If you're looking for sales jobs in the city that never sleeps, you had better bring your "A" game. All of the five boroughs of New York City - Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens and the Bronx (in the midst of regentrification) - all hold a myriad of great sales job opportunities. Having quickly recovered from the war in the 19th Century, New York City became one of our nation's most important ports by 1810 - New York City was built on sales. Now known for always being the first in the newest fashions, having the best restaurants in the country, and the hottest theater performances on Broadway, there are many different industries that need, actually that require, top-notch sales teams. As the famous singer Frank Sinatra says, "if I can make it there (New York City), I'll make it anywhere." Go out to networking events, meet new people, and be sure to go shopping for the right clothes so you look and feel the part.
When you interview for sales jobs in New York City, it's absolutely imperative that you do your homework - know the company you are interviewing with, inside and out. Find out what exactly they sell, how they sell, and who they sell to. Check out all of the company's social media platforms to get the feel of their company culture and the way they do business. And don't forget to research the person you are interviewing with - social media is also a great way to do this. Check out their LinkedIn profile to see what their sales background is and check Facebook and/or Instagram to see what they are like outside of work. Walk into your interview armed with this information and you will have great topics of conversation which will impress them and allow you to build a bond with them.
