If you're looking for sales jobs in Atlanta, you've come to the right place. Over two dozen fortune five-hundred companies are based here and the sales jobs are plentiful. We've seen lots of sales positions selling anything from computer chips to potato chips. It's a sales professionals' smorgasbord of sales employment. Coca-Cola, UPS, The Home Depot and Delta aren't the only game in town: tech and entertainment are bountiful, and annual salaries for Atlanteans are higher than average. It's no wonder Atlanta's economy is the eighth-largest in the country. But be aware the good old boy network is still alive and well in Atlanta. Sales professionals seeking sales jobs in Atlanta should be sharpening their networking skills. Historically, SalesJobs.com research has shown that the majority of sales hires came from insider networking. You've heard the old saying 'it's not what you know, it's who you know' right? That's definitely the case in Atlanta, so be sure to learn as much as you can about this city so you are armed with knowledge of this historic city's history and local living style when you rub elbows with the locals.
A-town. The ATL. Hotlanta. Whatever you want to call it, Atlanta is known for many different things: its Southern hospitality, it's sports teams and peaches. But there are also quite a few things you may not know about this city. For example, there are more than 70 roads with the word "Peachtree" in their names. The largest Hindu Temple in the world outside of India is located 10 miles outside of Atlanta. It's known as the birthplace of the civil rights movement in America - you can visit the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site to learn more about Dr. King's work and life. Believe it or not, Atlanta has the world's largest drive-in restaurant. The Varsity drive-in restaurant is able to accommodate 600 cars outside and more than 800 people inside. After you've had your fill of chili dogs, fried pies and French fries, you can go for a very long walk all the way from Atlanta to Alabama on the 'Silver Comet Trail' - it spans 61.5 miles over railroad trestles and under mountains - that's a long walk!
To meet the right people in your sales job networking quest, you need to know the right places to go. The best place to start your day is with coffee at Octane Coffee Bar + Lounge, a great place to meet people over coffee or, later in the day, a craft beer. If you're interested in tech sales, Atlanta Tech Village hosts a weekly gathering for a casual, catered lunch every Friday at their event center. You don't have to be a member to attend and tickets are only $10. If you need to take a quick networking break and get caught up on emails, there are plenty of co-working spaces in town such as Roam, Opportunity Hub, Tech Village, Industrious, C4 Atlanta, Strongbox West and more. Co-working spaces are great for meeting new people and getting a little work done. In the evenings, business drinks often happen at Studio No. 7, King + Duke, Holeman and Finch or for a nice view of the city, rooftop bar Whiskey Blue. Wherever your sales job quest takes you in Atlanta, be sure to dress to impress and be prepared.
