As a Client Service Leader (CSL) for our Water Market in California, you'll be at the forefront of strategic business relationships with municipal and regional water and wastewater clients. You'll help ensure Jacobs is their firm of choice by delivering innovative solutions, trusted advisory support, and exceptional service that helps build thriving, resilient communities. This position will be based out of Los Angeles, CA and may be structured as a full- time or part-time role depending on candidate experience and availability. Part-time positions are non-exempt and paid hourly. You'll join a team of experts in our Water Market and will have the opportunity to contribute in a flexible role that aligns with your strengthswhether that includes client strategy, technical leadership, mentoring, or supporting project delivery teams. In this role, you will lead select water and wastewater client accounts in the greater San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles area, as well as with select clients throughout the West Region. You will collaborate with client account teams, sales leaders, and delivery teams to shape and advance strategic opportunities. We'll rely on you to lead and support business development activities with key clients, resulting in the acquisition of new work and strengthening of long- term relationships. Rather than a primary focus on project management, this role offers flexibility to contribute as a strategic advisor, technical leader, or project team partner across a portfolio of clients and projects. You may support projects in roles such as technical reviewer, subject matter advisor, or team collaborator, helping ensure successful delivery and high client satisfaction. Using your expertise and experience, you'll play an integral role in mentoring staff, building trusted client relationships, and supporting pursuit activities, including strategy development, positioning, and proposal input.
What You'll Do
: Work directly with Client Account Managers (CAMs) and work collaboratively to drive client service activities, outreach, and relationship development. Lead client service teams and collaborate with California Water Market Growth and Operations Directors to align strategies and deliver local projects. Identify and pursue key opportunities, develop win strategies, and support proposal development Build mutually beneficial partnerships with consulting firms and contractors. Advocate for clients, ensuring their needs are met and recommending strategic actions for growth. Engage with internal technical and social communities to expand your business development skills and connect with peers and mentors. Participate in local industry and community engagement to enhance our brand and build relationships. Provide technical guidance, review, or subject matter expertise on select projects and programs. Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, bringing insight, innovation, and a deep understanding of water and wastewater challenges. Serve as technical lead or reviewer on select water market project/program elements. Here's what you'll need Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, or related field. Licensed CA Professional Engineer. 15+ years of progressive experience in capital improvements focused on the water market in California. Proven ability to develop growth strategies, build strong client relationships, and win new work. Experience leading teams and collaborating across disciplines, and proven ability to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams. Strong communication, technical writing, and presentation skills. Knowledge of local market trends and ability to create technical differentiation. Ideally, you'll also have: Advanced degree. Proven ability to build strong, trust-based relationships with clients at all organizational levels. Skilled at opening doors and leading account teams with vision, strategy, and accountability. Effective leadership skills through influence, not just authority. High emotional intelligence and client political savvy. Innovative, solutions-oriented mindset. Technical experience in delivering or managing water projects/programs, adding credibility in consulting, engineering, and construction. Posted Salary Range: Minimum 220,000.00 Posted Salary Range: Upper 343,650.00 Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Your health. The base salary range for this position is $220,000.00 to $343,650.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
