Are You the One? We are looking for a luxury sales professional who is polished, driven, and emotionally intelligent. Someone who loves people and beautiful spaces in equal measure. Someone who takes ownership without being asked, guides clients with confidence, and brings their absolute best to every interaction. This is not a role for someone who needs hand-holding or constant direction. It is a role for someone ready to own a portfolio, build relationships, and close with confidence in one of the most beautiful product categories in the luxury home space. If you thrive in a high-touch luxury environment, close with confidence, and communicate proactively without being chased, keep reading. WHO THRIVES HERE The people who succeed at RMD share these traits: They take ownership without being asked. They see what needs to happen and they make it happen. They read the room. A luxury homeowner, an interior designer, and a contractor all need something different and they flex naturally. They are resilient. This role has beautiful moments and hard ones. The right person handles both with grace. They grow on purpose. They seek feedback, implement it, and come back stronger. They celebrate wins and learn from losses. They communicate proactively. They do not wait to be asked for an update. They bring the information before it is needed. They care about craft. Our products are handmade with extraordinary skill. The right person feels that and communicates it with genuine passion. THE ROLE The Design Sales Consultant owns the full client journey from first consultation through final installation. You are RMD's brand ambassador, trusted advisor, and project owner in every interaction. SALES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT Build and manage a portfolio of residential accounts, interior designers, builders, and referral partners across the DMV market. Conduct in-home consultations, present tailored design solutions, and guide clients to confident decisions using our premium product lines. Prepare accurate quotes and proposals and close sales with professionalism. Self-generate a minimum of 5 qualified leads per month through prospecting, referrals, and networking. Follow up on all company-provided leads within 24 hours. Meet and exceed monthly revenue targets: 60% close rate and $10,000 average order value. PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND CLIENT EXPERIENCE Serve as the single point of contact from signed contract through completed installation. Coordinate with production and installation teams on timelines, scheduling, and scope. Communicate proactively with clients throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct post-installation walk-throughs and resolve any open items. Maintain accurate records in Pipedrive CRM. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE 30 days: Completed product and process training, shadowed consultations, and submitted your first independent proposal. 60 days: Managing your own consultation pipeline, following up on leads within 24 hours, and closing your first projects. 90 days: Operating independently with a growing portfolio, self-generating leads, and tracking toward monthly revenue targets. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Required: 2 to 4 years of experience in selling luxury goods, interior design, home furnishings, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to manage a full sales cycle from prospecting through close and post-sale follow-through. Exceptional communication skills with a polished, professional presence appropriate for luxury client environments. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously without dropping details. Emotional intelligence and professional maturity to thrive in a high-touch, client-facing role with real accountability. Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client site visits. Preferred: Experience with window treatments, drapery, or specialty interior products. Existing trade relationships with designers, architects, or builders in the DMV market. Familiarity with Hunter Douglas, Lutron, or custom soft goods product lines. Comfort reading architectural drawings or space plans. COMPENSATION Base Salary: $50,000 to $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Commission: Tiered structure with no earnings cap. A strong performer at $75,000 in monthly sales earns meaningful commission on top of base. An exceptional performer at $100,000 or more earns significantly higher total compensation. Full structure shared during the interview process.
