Position Summary

Mountain to Sound Outfitters is looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and customer-focused Sales Lead to help create an exceptional shopping experience for every customer who walks through our doors. As a Sales Lead, you'll serve as a key member of the retail team by leading by example, supporting daily store operations, mentoring staff, and delivering expert advice on outdoor gear. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, and has a passion for skiing, snowboarding, paddlesports, camping, climbing, or other outdoor pursuits.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service and build lasting customer relationships.
• Provide expert product recommendations based on customers' needs and experience levels.
• Lead by example in meeting and exceeding sales goals.
• Support the Store Manager with daily operations and opening/closing procedures.
• Assist with training and coaching new employees on sales techniques, customer service, and product knowledge.
• Help prioritize daily tasks and keep the sales floor running efficiently.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and well-stocked sales floor.
• Merchandise products to create attractive and engaging displays.
• Process sales, returns, rentals, and special orders accurately through the POS system.
• Assist with inventory management, receiving shipments, and restocking merchandise.
• Help identify opportunities to improve merchandising, customer experience, and store performance.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and confidently.
• Promote store events, classes, demos, and community programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the store.

Qualifications

• Previous retail sales experience required; outdoor retail experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Passion for outdoor recreation and willingness to continually expand product knowledge.
• Ability to motivate teammates and lead by example.
• Comfortable working independently and making decisions when management is unavailable.
• Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Preferred Experience
• Experience with ski, snowboard, kayak, paddleboard, camping, climbing, or backpacking equipment.
• Experience merchandising retail products.
• Experience with inventory management or retail point-of-sale systems.
• Prior leadership or keyholder experience. What We Offer
