Position Summary
The purpose of this leadership position is to grow the business and profitability for GTC by identifying new market or business opportunities, both domestically and overseas, and establish new business relationships for GTC products. This position is also responsible to expand business opportunities with existing customers, by expanding the current product offerings. Technical Skill
Requirements
: I. Four year bachelor degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Accounting or another related field of study. 2. Minimum of 2-4 years previous experience in a sales or marketing role, preferably in an automotive components manufacturing environment with previous supervisory experience. 3. Ability to be decisive with strong decision-making skills, and analytical skills with an attention to detail; ability to multi-task, with well developed time management skills. 4. Results oriented with excellent relationship-building skills with ability to follow through to accomplish goals; outstanding communications and interpersonal skills, negotiating and influencing skills. Duties and Responsibilities
I. Provide leadership and direction to the sales staff, the service department and the international business department: a. Verify accuracy and profitability of quotes b. Coach, motivate and counsel team members c. Ensure deadlines are met d. Manage new model launches 2. Manage profitability for products: a. Externally through piece pricing, tooling costs, trial parts, etc. b. Internally through establishing and maintaining budgets and implementation of cost saving ideas 3. Support company growth and profitability: a. Provide leadership and direction for new business opportunities with new customers b. Provide leadership and direction for sustaining and expanding business with current customers c. Analyze new markets for opportunities 4.Support internal and external customers, as needed:
- Prompt issue resolution 5. Maximize machine usage
- Ensure that internal equipment usage surpasses > 85% utilization 6. Communicate with internal and external customers to maximize relationships. 7. Other projects and duties, as assigned Supervisory
Responsibilities
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for the following positions: sales and international business manager.
Duties
include planning work for subordinates, observing and evaluating performance, developing, coaching and holding subordinates accountable for results and profitability. Frequency of Independent Judgment Exercised Regularly Position's Type of Job Tasks Performs complex tasks requiring extensive knowledge of department's work. Environment and Conditions Contacts The incumbent spends approximately 15-50% of his/her time developing and maintaining business contacts within the organization and 15-50% of his/her time with external contacts. The purpose of these contacts is to discuss design issues, product cost, production capacities, receivables and collections, deliveries, quality of product, discuss new business opportunities, negotiate contracts and terms, discuss customs issues and cost, etc.
Working Conditions
This position works in an open office environment. Incumbents are not likely to drive a vehicle while performing job responsibilities. Incumbents spend approximately 70% sitting, I0% standing and 20% walking in the course of this position and are unlikely to lift anything greater than 40 pounds. Incumbents will use the following office machines while performing job duties: computer, printer, copier, fax, telephone, scanner and calculator.
