Summary

The Inside Sales Representative is a vital part of the sales team, leveraging and supporting the outside sales staff through timely and accurate contact with customers and suppliers. The primary objectives are to understand and anticipate the needs of the sales team, be familiar with current business and business opportunities, have great rapport with both customers and suppliers, and communicate news and needs to others, as necessary, to provide timely response to requests and resolution of issues.

Duties & Responsibilities

·        Talking to sales representatives and production multiple times a day to coordinate activities

·        Answering customer telephone calls and servicing or coordinating responses

·        Understanding customer’s needs and requirements

·        Providing delivery information, and expediting deliveries

·        Issuing customer quotes

·        Researching product availability

·        Troubleshooting problems

·        Entering orders

·        Managing customer expectations

·        Resolving complaints

·        Providing product information

·        Helping to resolve billing/accounting inconsistencies or disputes

Qualifications/Training

·        Education: Two-year technical degree or prior experience

·        Prior Sales and/or Marketing background or experience

·        Communicates Effectively: Clear Interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

·        Desire to learn and contribute

·        Excellent people skills

·        Flexibility with job responsibilities to cooperate and get things done in a small department

Physical Requirements

·        High mental and visual effort required.

Safety / Hazards

·        Steel-toed shoes are always required in the production area due to physical hazards from moving equipment, machine parts and products.

·        ANSI Z87.1 standard safety glasses required in production area due to dust, oils, and debris.

·        May be exposed to flying objects such as scrap metal and sparks.
