Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) Full-Time Behavioral Health Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) PRN Behavioral Health HAVENWYCK HOSPITAL (a UHS facility) Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults. It is the ultimate goal of our dedicated staff to build strength, confidence and knowledge within each patient, in hopes that they may continue learning and understanding their needs and practicing self-care for the rest of their lives. Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS)to join our team! The CTRS is responsible for the provision of Recreational Therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic activity interventions and discharge leisure planning. The CTRS utilizes individual and/or group activity interventions to bring about positive changes in the client's behavior, be-it cognitive, social, emotional or physical. The CTRS educates the client in healthy coping skills, and available leisure resources to continue the client in post discharge leisure planning and involvement. The CTRS will be responsible for the provision of services according to the current standards of practice. Duties include but are not limited to: * Establishes treatment goals and objectives to meet individual needs of clients and determines the TR Modality by which the goals are achieved. * Evaluates each patient's progress and the effectiveness of therapy treatment, and records results on daily progress notes follows all documentation policies. * Develops and applies clinical skills by interviewing and assessing the patient's level of functioning, observing participation and response in RT/TR Sessions. * Attends treatment team conferences to exchange information and observations with other members of the team, as well as assisting with the completion of the initial Treatment Plan and Treatment Plan progress summary updates. * Flexible work schedule to meet program needs. * Serves as a role model for patients and orientees/students. * Acts as a clinical instructor for students in a Therapeutic Recreation Program, with all duties and responsibilities implied therein. (Full Time CTRS only) QUALIFICATIONS: * Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) by National Certification Board (NCTRC). * Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an approved program required. * Experience in psychiatric setting preferred.
