Business Manager - Dobson Pipe Organ Builders Location: Lake City, Iowa Position Type: Full-time About Us: Dobson Pipe Organ Builders, located in Lake City, Iowa, is a world-renowned builder of custom pipe organs. For five decades, we have constructed fine pipe organs for churches, schools and concert halls across the US as well as Sydney, Australia and Oxford, UK. Due to a retirement we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Business Manager to join our team. Position Summary: Dobson Pipe Organ Builders is seeking a senior-level Business Manager to assume responsibility for the company's accounting, finance, and business operations. This role is a strategic, hands-on position requiring deep accounting expertise and sound financial judgment--not a bookkeeping role. This position is a part of the management team. Salary dependent upon experience. Key Responsibilities: * Perform all accounting & business functions of running a small business, including: * Accounts payable, receivables and payroll processing * Monthly and annual financial reporting including inventory management * Budget preparation, cash flow management, forecasting overhead * General ledger and bank reconciliations * Prepare financial statements: P & L, B/S * Sales and use tax filings * Fixed asset management * Provides financial information to company's accounting firm for income tax filings * Obtains and maintains all insurance which includes worker's comp, property and cargo * Manage all human resources functions, including: * Recruitment and onboarding * Policy development and compliance * Employee relations and performance support * Administers company-provided insurance and benefits plans * Assist management with operational planning, cost tracking, and financial analysis as needed. Qualifications: * Must have at least 5 years accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing. * Must have at least 5 years payroll processing experience and familiarity with relevant tax requirements. * Proven experience in human resources administration. * Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating and maintaining complex spreadsheets, using formulas and pivot tables. * Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. * Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and confidentiality. * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
