Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented AP/AR Specialist & GL (General Ledger) Accountant to join our finance team. DEW Inc. is seeking a hands-on accounting professional who can own day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable while supporting a timely, accurate month-end close in a multi- company environment. This is a high-impact role that blends transaction processing, intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and process improvement, perfect for someone who is technology savvy, can work in multiple systems, and enjoys rolling up their sleeves and tightening controls as we scale. This is a position for a self-starter that enjoys organizing chaos and is not afraid to dig-in to research and figure out the best way to do things, create a process, and remain organized and disciplined in its execution. We are in the midst of significant change and need someone that can be part of making the change AND part of the future stability. Familiarity with multi-company environments with complex allocations is ideal. Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP) * Process supplier invoices with 2- or 3-way match (PO/Receiver/Invoice); resolve discrepancies with Purchasing/Operations. Can include supporting service writer functions in receiving inventory and referencing orders. * Maintain vendor master data (W-9s, terms, ACH info); ensure 1099 readiness. * Coordinate with Controller and CFO on payment schedules. * Code invoices to the correct GL/department/branch/ work order, including prepaids and accruals at month-end. * Monitor AP aging; negotiate credits and early-pay discounts. Accounts Receivable (AR) & Intercompany * Create and send accurate, timely customer invoices ; manage billing schedules, backup, and contract terms. * Re search short-pays and pay discrepancies; issue/approve credit memos per policy. * Assist with collections tactfully; escalate delinquent accounts; maintain notes and payment plans. * Own intercompany AR/AP : bill-backs, reconciliations, eliminations, and settlement entries across entities. General Ledger (GL) & Close * Prepare journal entries ( ex: accruals, prepaids, payroll allocations, depreciation as needed). * Complete balance sheet reconciliations (AR/AP, advances, suspense, intercompany). * Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close ; produce variance analyses vs. budget/forecast. * Maintain a tidy audit trail ; support external CPA reviews/tax filings. Compliance, Tax & Controls * Support sales & use tax filings (multi-state), 1099, unclaimed property tracking. * Strengthen internal controls (approvals, segregation, vendor onboarding, fraud prevention). * Help document and continuously improve SOPs across AP, AR, and GL. Tools & Collaboration * Systems: QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Karmak, Protractor, Sage Intacct , Excel/Google Sheets; exposure to bill pay and AR automation tools a plus. * Partner with Operations, Sales, and Purchasing to resolve issues fast and keep data clean.
