Full description of the position
The company is an engineering design and fabrication company, with a mission to bring freedom through innovation. Our work integrates mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering, utilizing an in-house, end-to-end process to efficiently move from concept to production while ensuring top quality. Your Role As a Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth by supporting scoping, quoting, and client acquisition efforts. Your technical expertise will help bridge the gap between customer needs and engineering and manufacturing capabilities. You will engage with potential and existing clients to identify engineering challenges and deliver tailored solutions: * Design Engineering: Development of innovative machines, hardware, firmware, and automation and control systems. * Manufacturing: In-house fabrication capabilities to support rapid prototyping and production. * Custom Engineering Solutions: Solving complex engineering problems across industries. This role demands excellent communication skills, strong technical acumen, relationship-building skills, and the ability to translate engineering expertise into customer value. Key Responsibilities * Client Consultation & Scoping: Engage with prospective clients to understand their needs, provide engineering insights, and develop customized solutions. * Sales & Quoting: In collaboration with the engineering team, defining project scope, pricing, and solution strategies to support client acquisition efforts. * Client Relationship Management: Maintain and grow relationships with key customers, ensuring long-term partnerships and repeat business. * Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Work directly with engineers to develop project scoping documentation and ensure alignment between customer needs and technical feasibility. * Industry Expertise & Market Analysis: Leverage experience and relationships in the following industries: Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Device, Food and Beverage, Manufacturing/OEMs, Consumer Products, and Industrial Automation to drive business opportunities. * Technical Presentations & Demonstrations: Deliver compelling presentations to clients, showcasing the Company's expertise and solutions. * Support Project Execution: Act as a liaison between the customer and the internal team to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction. Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (PE preferred). * Direct sales experience with engineering design, automation, and control systems. * 5+ years of experience in a sales engineering or technical business development role. * Experience in design engineering and the ability to contribute to technical discussions is a plus. * Strong understanding of machine design, automation, firmware, and hardware development. * Experience and relationships in the following industries: Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Device, Food and Beverage, Manufacturing/OEMs, Consumer Products, and Industrial Automation industries. * Experience with Blender (or similar software) highly desired. * Proven ability to translate technical capabilities into business value and effectively communicate with both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders. * Experience with HubSpot, AI enabled tools, and sales pipeline management. * Ability to travel up to 25% to meet with clients and attend industry events.
