For over 26 years Halo has been a staple of the Portland fashion community, providing our customers with a highly curated and quality selection of artisan footwear, clothing and accessories. We are seeking a versatile and passionate Sales Associate who shares our love for high quality, boutique designer fashion. As a small business, we value versatility, and we're looking for an individual who can wear multiple hats to contribute to various aspects of our store's success. Key Responsibilities: * Customer Engagement: Greet customers with warmth and enthusiasm, providing exceptional service that reflects the values of Halo Shoes. Assist customers in exploring our handpicked selection of artisan clothing and footwear, offering insights and personalized recommendations. * Sales and Transactions: Skillfully handle sales transactions, including processing payments, issuing receipts, and maintaining a tidy and organized cash register area. Promote add-on sales and inform customers about ongoing promotions and benefits. * Visual Merchandising: Participate in maintaining an inviting and aesthetically pleasing store environment. Assist with arranging displays, restocking shelves, and ensuring that products are well-presented to showcase their uniqueness. * Product Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of the stories behind our artisan products, including their origins, materials, and craftsmanship. Convey this knowledge to customers to enhance their shopping experience. * Store Operations: Assist with daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring cleanliness and organization, and supporting other team members as needed. * Social Media and Online Presence: Contribute to our boutique's online presence by assisting in capturing product photos, drafting social media content, and supporting our online sales efforts. * Administrative Tasks: Help with administrative duties such as maintaining customer records, processing special orders, and coordinating customer appointments. Qualifications: * A genuine interest in and appreciation for handcrafted artisan clothing and footwear. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage customers and provide excellent service. * Ability to adapt and thrive in a small business environment with a "willing to do it all" attitude. * Retail experience is preferred but not required; a passion for customer service is essential. * Basic computer skills for point-of-sale transactions and basic administrative tasks. * Flexibility to work 3 days a week, including both weekend days. * Enthusiastic, positive, and self-motivated personality.
