Full description of the position
Position Title: Senior Sales Manager - Hotel Sales Purpose of the Position: The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for driving hotel revenue and profitability through proactive sales strategies, exceptional client service, and strong internal collaboration. This role focuses on securing new and repeat business, enhancing client satisfaction from pre-event planning through post-event execution, and maintaining productive relationships with hotel personnel and industry partners. The position requires spending over 50% of time on outside sales activities, including client meetings, site visits, and networking events. Key Responsibilities: * Sales & Business Development * Proactively solicit and secure new group and transient business through networking, cold calling, market research, and industry events. * Maintain and grow existing accounts to maximize revenue opportunities. * Develop and execute quarterly sales action plans aligned with hotel goals. * Respond to incoming leads and convert them into confirmed bookings. * Client Relationship Management * Conduct client meetings and site inspections to understand needs and present tailored solutions. * Ensure seamless client experience by coordinating with hotel departments and maintaining organized event files. * Address client concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. * Marketing & Strategy * Collaborate with the General Manager to plan and implement hotel marketing initiatives. * Utilize sales systems (e.g., Delphi) and marketing tools to track performance and manage client data. * Monitor competitor offerings and market trends to adjust strategies accordingly. * Operational Support * Provide on-site support during events to ensure successful execution and client satisfaction. * Work cross-functionally with operations, catering, and front office teams to deliver exceptional service. * Reporting & Analysis * Prepare and submit weekly/monthly sales reports and forecasts. * Analyze performance metrics to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement. * Industry Engagement * Represent the hotel at industry and civic events to build brand awareness and generate leads. * Maintain active involvement in professional organizations to stay current with hospitality trends. Qualifications & Skills: * Minimum 3 years of hotel sales experience or equivalent. * Proficiency in Delphi and Microsoft Office; willingness to learn new systems. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage multiple priorities. * Professional, outgoing, and client-focused demeanor. * Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
