POSITION SUMMARY The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving growth by expanding market presence, developing strategic partnerships, and generating new revenue streams across the URV portfolio of hotels based in the Caribbean. This role drives revenue growth by building strong trade relationships, optimizing distribution channels, and executing targeted sales initiatives aligned with URV's commercial plan and brand positioning. The BDM works closely with Group Director of Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing, Reservations, Property GMs, and the URV leadership team to deliver profitable market share growth and support URV's long-term expansion strategy across the Caribbean. The BDM holds direct accountability for delivering measurable revenue growth across defined segments, markets, and strategic accounts, ensuring all sales activity contributes to sustainable top-line performance and margin integrity. Key Responsibilities Sales Strategy & Leadership: * Work closely with the Group Director of Sales to develop and execute annual multi-property sales plans aligned with URV's commercial strategy and revenue targets * Assist in leading market segmentation planning across leisure, corporate, group, wholesale, consortia, and travel advisor channels * Own defined revenue targets by segment and/or market, with clear accountability for production, market share growth, and return on sales investment * Assist the GDOS develop and execute market-specific go-to-market strategies for both established and emerging feeder markets, including ramp-up plans and performance benchmarks Account Management & Market Development: * Build and maintain strong relationships with key travel advisors, sales reps (i.e WanderLuxe), DMC's, MICE planners, tour operators, OTAs, corporate accounts, and consortia partners (Virtuoso, Signature, Traveller Made, etc.) * Conduct regular sales calls, client meetings, webinars, and property familiarization trips * Represent URV at major trade shows and events such as IMEX, ILTM, Virtuoso Travel Week and other events to support the business. * Identify, develop, and grow new feeder markets and strategic accounts to diversify demand and reduce reliance on single-source markets * Drive cross-selling initiatives across the URV portfolio, maximizing total portfolio revenue and encouraging multi-property itineraries and long-term account growth * Own and manage strategic, multi-year partnerships that deliver sustained commercial value to the URV portfolio Revenue Growth & Distribution: * Partner with Revenue Management to optimize contracting, demand generation, and channel profitability * Ensure alignment with distribution partners including iHotelier/Amadeus, CRSs, GDS, wholesalers, and direct booking channels * Support package creation, promotions, value-adds, and seasonal campaigns to drive occupancy and ADR * Partner with Marketing to develop trade-focused promotions, digital campaigns, and advisor incentives that support pacing needs and commercial priorities. Team Leadership & Collaboration: * Work closely with the Group Director of Sales in leading and mentoring sales managers and coordinators across the group * Establish KPIs and performance dashboards in partnership with the Group Director of Sales and Revenue Management * Collaborate with Marketing on trade communications, collateral, co-op opportunities, and brand storytelling * Provide market feedback and competitive insights to Marketing to influence campaign development, content needs, and messaging strategy * Support content accuracy and channel optimization across OTAs, wholesale platforms, consortia sites, and partner portals by collaborating with Marketing and Distribution teams * Participate in the development and approval of trade-facing assets, ensuring they align with brand guidelines and commercial objectives * Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring all partners clearly understand and represent URV's positioning, service standards, and value proposition. Contracts, Reporting & Budgeting * Closely work with the Group Director of Sales on contracting, RFP responses, consortia submissions, corporate rate negotiations, and partnership agreements. * Maintain accurate account tracking, production reports, and forecasts through CRM and sales systems * Manage the annual sales budget, travel schedule, and co-op marketing funds * Manage co-op marketing funds in partnership with Marketing, ensuring ROI is tracked and reported * Provide monthly sales performance summaries for executive leadership * Ensure disciplined CRM usage, pipeline accuracy, and data-driven decision-making across all assigned markets and accounts * Support commercial reporting and presentations for senior leadership and, where required, ownership or external stakeholders. Qualifications & Experience: * 3+ years of hotel/resort sales experience with multi-property or cluster leadership preferred * Strong background in luxury, all-inclusive, villa, or leisure-focused resort environments * Established network in key markets: US leisure, luxury travel advisors, wholesale/FIT, and corporate travel * Proven ability to drive revenue, manage key accounts, and close high-value partnerships * Experience with Caribbean markets strongly preferred * Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills * Familiarity with CRS, CRM, GDS, and major hotel distribution platforms * Ability to travel up to 50% of the time between markets and resort locations * Demonstrated ability to support new openings, re-brandings, or repositioning initiatives through targeted sales strategies and change management Competencies: * Strategic thinking with strong sales acumem * Results-oriented with ability to meet aggressive revenue targets * Exceptional communication and client-facing skills * High level of organization, follow-through, and accountability * Team leadership and cross-functional collaboration * Adaptability across cultural and operational environments * Experience with Amadeus, Opera, CRM's preferred Compensation: * 80-90K/year, plus bonus * Fully paid health insurance * PTO/Paid Holidays * 401K w/4% match Job Type: Full-time Base Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Flexible schedule * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Willingness to travel: * 50% (Preferred) Work Location: In person
