Vice President of Sales & Estimating Location: Clackamas, OR (Onsite) Employment Type: Full-Time Pay: $120,000 - $160,000 per year Date Posted: January 6, 2026 A High-Impact Leadership Opportunity in Commercial & Industrial Fencing A well-established commercial and industrial fencing contractor in the Pacific Northwest is seeking a Vice President of Sales & Estimating to lead business development, estimating strategy, and revenue growth across commercial, industrial, and public-sector projects. This role has evolved from a broader operations focus to a front-end leadership position centered on sales leadership, estimating excellence, client development, and team training. We are looking for a fencing or specialty construction leader who thrives in a hands-on environment and wants a long-term career home with future executive upside. About the Company Founded in the early 1970s, the company specializes in commercial, industrial, and government security fencing , including: * Perimeter security systems, fencing, and gates * Public works and high-security infrastructure projects * Data centers, semiconductor manufacturing, and secure facilities * Chain link, ornamental, and wood fencing * Security gates, access control, bollards, and crash barriers Clients include utilities, school districts, universities, data centers, and large general contractors throughout Oregon, Washington, and Northern California. Position Overview The Vice President of Sales & Estimating is responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic sales leadership, accurate estimating, and strong client relationships. This role partners closely with ownership and senior leadership to win work, improve bid quality, develop talent, and position the company for long-term growth. You will lead estimating efforts, support business development, mentor estimators and sales staff, and serve as a key face of the organization with customers, general contractors, and public-sector clients. Key Responsibilities: 1. Sales Leadership & Business Development * Lead and grow commercial, industrial, and public-sector sales efforts * Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, owners, and end users * Identify new market opportunities and strategic accounts * Support proposal strategy, client presentations, and contract negotiations 2. Estimating Strategy & Oversight * Lead and review estimates for complex fencing and perimeter security projects * Ensure pricing accuracy, risk assessment, and margin discipline * Establish estimating best practices, templates, and consistency * Partner with leadership on major pursuits and awarded work 3. Team Development & Training * Train, mentor, and develop estimators and sales staff * Establish clear expectations, processes, and accountability * Improve collaboration between sales, estimating, and operations * Build bench strength for long-term organizational growth 4. Client & Market Leadership * Serve as a senior representative of the company in the market * Strengthen customer relationships through responsiveness and credibility * Ensure proposals and communication reflect professionalism and quality 5. Strategic & Financial Contribution * Support annual revenue planning and growth initiatives * Improve forecasting accuracy and bid-to-win ratios * Contribute to long-term leadership succession and company strategy Qualifications * 10+ years of leadership experience in commercial fencing, perimeter security, or specialty construction * 7+ years of estimating experience on large or complex commercial / public projects * Proven success in sales leadership, estimating, or preconstruction roles * Strong understanding of fencing standards, specifications, and compliance * Experience working with general contractors and government entities * Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; Bluebeam or Procore experience is a plus * Strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills * Clean motor vehicle record * Direct fencing industry experience strongly preferred * AFA, CFP, or related industry credentials valued but not required Compensation & Benefits * Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 base (up to $160,000 for highly qualified candidates) * Relocation reimbursement up to $12,000 * 401(k) with company match * 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental & Vision * 50% coverage for spouse and dependents * Life insurance * Paid time off * Costco membership * Company truck (reasonable personal use allowed) Why This Role Matters This is a career-defining opportunity to step into a senior leadership role at a stable, 50+-year specialty contractor with a strong reputation and consistent backlog.
