Sales Associate Pay Range: $80,000 - $150,000 per year (base + commission potential) Employment Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt (Inside Sales) Location: In-store / showroom Do you love connecting with people and helping them find exactly what they need? Product Knowledge * Maintain a thorough understanding of current appliance models, brands, and features. * Stay informed about new product launches, promotions, and industry trends. * Explain warranties, financing, and installation options clearly to customers. Sales & Performance * Meet or exceed personal sales goals and contribute to store performance. * Promote special sales, events, and new product releases. * Track and review individual sales metrics for continuous improvement. Store Presentation * Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing displays on the sales floor. * Assist in merchandising and product placement to optimize customer experience. Team Collaboration * Work cooperatively with other sales associates, managers, and support staff. * Share best practices and contribute to a positive, motivated team culture. Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent (college degree a plus) * Previous retail sales experience preferred, ideally in appliances, electronics, or home goods * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Ability to learn quickly and maintain detailed product knowledge. * Comfortable using POS systems and basic computer tools. * Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs. occasionally and work weekends or holidays as needed. Compensation & Commission Structure Training Period (Hourly, Non-Exempt): * Pay rate: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience. * First 60 days of employment are paid hourly and eligible for overtime. * Provides hands-on product and sales training while earning consistent pay. Post-Training (Commissioned, Non-Exempt - Inside Sales): * After 60 days and completion of the training program, employees transition to a commission-based structure under a signed Commission Agreement. * Average annual compensation: $80,000 - $160,000+, depending on performance and sales volume. * Position remains non-exempt under California law but may qualify for the inside sales overtime exemption in any pay period where earnings exceed 1.5 times the state minimum wage and more than half of total compensation comes from commissions. * In pay periods where these conditions aren't met, overtime pay applies per California wage and hour laws. * Pay stubs reflect hours worked, commissions earned, and regular rate of pay.
