Our mission is to keep the lights on when our community needs it most. Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and technically minded Sales Engineer to lead outbound sales efforts and manage the full sales cycle for generator service contracts, new generator sales, and parts solutions. This is a dynamic, customer-facing role that requires a blend of a hunter mentality and strong technical aptitude. As the primary point of contact for our generator solutions, you will be responsible for responding to inbound sales requests for residential/commercial installation projects, which includes conducting detailed on-site visits to assess project requirements and building comprehensive sales proposals for new installations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a self-driven environment, comfortably transitioning from cold-calling commercial prospects and managing the bid process for complex RFPs to walking residential sites and preparing formal quotes. You must be a confident communicator who can build trust quickly, translate technical product specifications into customer solutions, and manage every stage of the pipeline from initial outreach to final project hand-off. Key Responsibilities: * Cold call and prospect commercial, industrial, and public agency clients to sell generator maintenance services and products. * Respond to inbound sales inquiries for residential and commercial projects with urgency and professionalism. * Conduct on-site visits and walkthroughs for residential installations to assess electrical requirements and project logistics. * Perform site assessments for commercial clients to collect technical data for maintenance and equipment needs. * Prepare and submit formal bids, proposals, and quotes for residential installations, maintenance contracts, and parts. * Manage the RFP/bid process from spec review through submission, including all required technical documentation. * Collaborate with service managers and technicians to develop accurate pricing and technical project scopes. * Maintain the CRM and sales tracking system to manage the pipeline and ensure timely follow-ups. * Close deals and ensure a smooth project handoff to the operations and service departments. * Achieve sales targets by balancing outbound hunting with high-quality responses to inbound leads. Qualifications: * Experience: Prior success in B2B technical sales, estimating, or quoting within the generator, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems industries. * Technical Aptitude: Ability to conduct on-site technical assessments for residential and commercial projects, identifying electrical configurations and installation needs (training provided). * Sales Grit: A "hunter" mentality with proven experience in cold-calling, proactive prospecting, and managing the full sales cycle from lead to close. * Communication & Presentation: Strong ability to translate complex technical specifications into clear, professional proposals and present solutions confidently to customers. * Organizational Skills: Self-motivated and capable of managing a high volume of open bids, RFP documentation, and CRM tracking in a self-driven environment. * Logistics: Valid driver's license and the ability to travel daily for in-person site visits and client meetings.
