Full description of the position

We are seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join our team! You will work with our customers to learn their test requirements and explain how SSP can meet them. You will also estimate hardware and labor costs for quotations to customers. Responsibilities: * Establish customer rapport and acceptance * Communicate effectively with design firms and end users (Engineered Specifications & Preliminary Design work) * Support customer inquiries by fielding calls while being a source of information and problem solving to customers * Travel to customer sites if needed (local customers in Bay Area + occasional out of state customers) * Maintain email correspondence with internal and external stakeholders * Prepare and give technical presentations to explain to customers how our products and services work * Work with customers and engineers to ensure the proposed solution meets their requirements * Estimate project costs and schedule for solutions that meet customer requirements * Write proposals to define the scope of work for engineering service projects * Secure orders, guarantee product standards and assure product delivery * Recommend new and improved products to customers and explain how the equipment will be more cost-effective * Develop design alternatives when necessary and clearly communicate the reasons for the design alternatives * Problem-solve engineered solutions within a variety of constraints (budget/cost, available resources/utilities, space/footprint, time, etc.) Desired Technical Skills and Experience: * 5 years technical experience and background preferably in test, measurement, and system integration * Good marketing skills and business sense * Ability to work with others as a team * Ability to build client relationships easily * Analytical ability and great problem solving skills * Presentation skills and ability to convey product value * High-level organization skills for maintaining sales territory * Self-confidence to support persuasion and sales efforts * BSEE, BSME, BSCS or similar engineering degree What We Offer You: * An opportunity to support technical sales opportunities that span various customers, industries, and technologies * A friendly and fast-paced environment that is never boring * Solid compensation package * Your choice of a 4- or 5- day work week * Medical, vision and dental insurance * Life insurance * 15 days paid time off Please send your resume to [please apply online] and include "Senior Sales Engineer" in the subject line.
