Position Summary
: A privately held, growth-oriented company is seeking a seasoned Fleet Insurance Leader to lead its expansion into the fleet segment. The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing and building a department to target commercial trucking insurance fleets of 11+ power units. This role manages all portions of the life cycle including new business, servicing, claims management, and renewals. The Fleet Manager works closely with operations, finance, safety, non-fleet, and external vendors to optimize market positioning and grow the agencies market penetration in this space.

Responsibilities
:
- Create and design best practices and tactics for a department focused on Fleet Trucking Insurance
- Build, train, and mentor a team of Fleet Producers and Account Managers.
- Maintain and grow relationships with insurance carriers, ensuring strong market access and pricing advantages.
- Oversee fleet submissions, quoting, and binding ensuring quality, compliance, and profitability.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments and implement safety and loss-control programs for clients.
- Partner with underwriting to ensure clean submissions, accurate driver lists, and proper vehicle scheduling.
- Manage renewal strategies and ensure exceptional service delivery to large trucking accounts.
- Collaborate with marketing and business development to attract new fleets nationwide.
- Partner with non-fleet team to develop a strategy for existing customers that grow in size to this division.
- Implement and enforce fleet policies, safety standards, and driver guidelines.
- Report production results, retention rates, and department growth metrics to executive leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
: Required:
- 7-10 years of experience in commercial trucking insurance (preferably in fleets or large accounts).
- With at least 3 years of experience in leading a team or managing employees.
- In-depth understanding of Auto Liability, Physical Damage, Cargo, and General Liability coverages.
- Proven experience with carrier relations, safety programs, DOT compliance, and FMCSA guidelines.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and organizational skills.
- Active Florida 2-20 General Lines License required or active home state license if not domiciled in FL. Preferred:
- Experience in trucking insurance operations, claims management, or underwriting.
- Familiarity with agency management systems(Sales Force, Now Certs, or Similar)
- Six Sigma, Lean, or process improvement certification.
- Industry designations TRS, CPCU, CIC or similar. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
