As the Business Development Manager for our U.S. operations, you will play a critical role in expanding our market presence, building strong client and partner relationships, identifying new opportunities, and driving sustainable revenue growth. This role is centered on strategic expansion across key public-sector verticals, including Healthcare, Justice, Local Government, and Law Enforcement. Your Role in Action - Key Responsibilities Strategic Partnerships Market Access * Identify, engage, and develop strategic partnerships with small and specialized Language Service Providers (LSPs) to support: * * Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI) * Face-to-Face (FTF) interpreting services * Establish partnership models that enable joint bidding, scalable delivery, and long-term mutual value. * Build relationships that provide access to MBE, WBE, VBE, SDVOBE, and other set-aside certifications , enabling thebigword to compete where diversity requirements apply. * Structure and manage partnership agreements that ensure compliance, quality, and commercial sustainability. Public Sector Growth US Market Expansion * Lead business development efforts across US public-sector markets, including healthcare, justice, law enforcement, and local government. * Serve as a senior ambassador for thebigword, representing the brand with professionalism and credibility in meetings, conferences, and industry events. End-to-End Business Development Leadership * Own the full sales and business development cycle, from prospecting and qualification through proposal development, negotiation, and contract close. * Lead and contribute to complex RFPs, RFIs, and bid responses , with a strong understanding of US public-sector procurement processes. * Design sourcing and delivery strategies that align partner capabilities, pricing, and operational execution with bid requirements. * Collaborate closely with internal commercial, operational, and delivery teams to ensure solutions are viable, compliant, and scalable. Strategic Thinking Innovation * Identify creative, non-traditional routes to market and partnership-led growth opportunities. * Challenge conventional approaches and develop practical, results-driven solutions that support rapid market entry. * Help position thebigword to hit the ground running by building a strong foundation for sustainable US growth. The Perfect Match: Your Skills Talents Proven Business Development Success: Demonstrated track record of winning new business in the U.S. market, with experience across healthcare, justice, local government, and/or law enforcement sectors. Public Sector Procurement Expertise: Strong understanding of U.S. public- sector procurement processes, including RFPs, RFIs, frameworks, and government contracting requirements, with the ability to navigate complex buying cycles. Strategic Relationship Building: Exceptional ability to build, influence, and sustain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, procurement leaders, and decision-makers across multiple levels of an organization. Executive Communication Presentation: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with experience delivering compelling presentations, live demonstrations, and persuasive pitches to both internal and external audiences. Results-Oriented Mindset: Highly driven and performance-focused, with a consistent ability to meet or exceed sales targets, pipeline goals, and revenue objectives while maintaining a high standard of client engagement. Language Services Experience (Preferred): Prior experience within the language services industry (interpreting, translation, or LSP environments) is strongly preferred, but not required.
