Roofing Sales Representative (Insurance Claims Specialist)Location: [City, State] (Extensive field work required) Job Type: Full-Time, Commission-Based (with potential base/benefits depending on company structure)Position OverviewWe are seeking a driven and empathetic Roofing Sales Representative to specialize in guiding homeowners through the complex insurance claims process following storm or other property damage. This pivotal role involves identifying potential clients, assessing damage, liaising with insurance companies, and closing sales to ensure a seamless restoration experience for the homeowner. The ideal candidate is self- motivated, a strong communicator, and possesses a deep understanding of residential roofing systems and insurance protocols.Key Responsibilities * Lead Generation & Inspection: Identify storm-affected areas, generate new leads through door-to-door efforts and networking, and conduct thorough on-site roof inspections to document damage (including photos and measurements). * Client Consultation & Education: Educate homeowners on the damage assessment, their insurance policy coverage, and the entire claims and restoration process. * Insurance Claims Management: Assist clients in filing claims, communicate with insurance adjusters, and attend adjuster meetings to ensure all damage is accurately documented and a fair scope of work is agreed upon. * Estimating & Negotiation: Prepare detailed, itemized estimates and proposals using industry-standard software (e.g., Xactimate) and negotiate with insurance adjusters and companies to secure proper compensation for repairs or replacement. * Sales & Project Coordination: Finalize contracts with homeowners and coordinate with project managers and production teams to ensure smooth project execution from start to finish. * Documentation & Follow-Up: Maintain accurate and organized records of all sales activities, communications, and claim progress in a CRM system, providing consistent follow-up to keep clients informed. Qualifications & Skills * Experience: Proven success in sales, ideally in the roofing, construction, or home improvement industry. Prior experience in claims processing or as an insurance adjuster is a significant plus. * Insurance Knowledge: Strong understanding of homeowners' insurance policies, claim filing processes, and negotiation tactics. * Ability to climb on roofs and carry a ladder; comfortable with heights. Proficiency with mobile technology and documentation software; Xactimate experience is often preferred. * Excellent communication (verbal and written), strong analytical skills, detail-oriented mindset, and effective problem-solving abilities. * Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, results-oriented, professional demeanor, and exceptional customer service skills to manage potentially difficult conversations with empathy. * Requirements: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential.
