Full description of the position

Position: Sales Design Engineer The sales engineer (SE) will perform critical roles in the overall sales process. The SE will work closely with the sales team and the field teams who will ultimately implement a new system installation. The SE will design a system to meet the unique audio, video, and recording needs of a customer as per the sales team members scope of work (SOW). Additionally, the SE will design an optimal solution and create the appropriate documentation for the field team to later implement. The SE may be asked to provide guidance to the sales team regarding audio, video, and recording solutions prior to the proposal of a potential sale. The SE may be needed to help present the proposal to the associated stakeholders of the project and perform any product demos that may be necessary. Responsibilities The responsibilities of the sales engineer include but are not limited to: * Create bill of materials, labor estimates, system design drawings, and scope of work narratives for proposals. * Review and validate the scope of work associated with the system design. * Design audio, video, and recording systems utilizing appropriate technology and equipment to be installed at a unique customer location. * Support Account Executives with customer need analysis and site surveys. * Consult with the sales team to assess the application of BIS Digital products in order to solve client business needs. * Maintains proficiency of features and uses for the following devices and software. * DCR, DCR2, DCR IR * Biamp Tesira Forte and Biamp Canvas (more broadly, knowledge of DSP configuration) * Atlona Video Distribution and Velocity Room Control Systems * Wolf vision * Dante Networked Audio * Network switches * Utilizes knowledge of the following systems when designing system flow. * Audio (program and speech), DSP based systems * Projection and display devices * Video distribution systems * Source control devices * Custom control devices * Audio and video teleconferencing * Digital signage systems * Video wall display systems * RF systems * Familiarity with networking protocols and practices such as DHCP, IGMP Snooping, Multicast and Unicast Traffic, creating VLANs, RTSP/RTP streaming etc. * Familiarity with Dante Audio and configuring Dante audio systems. * Familiarity with common Windows OS tools such as Windows Active Directory and Windows Task Scheduler * Provide integration documents. * Troubleshoot system issues to determine and find resolutions. * Other related duties as assigned.
