Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Optometry Office Manager / Lead Technician to join our growing practice. This is a senior, hands-on role ideal for someone who has worked extensively in optometry and is comfortable managing both clinical and front-office operations. This position is more than a traditional optometric technician role. You will help oversee daily clinic flow, support staff, assist the doctor clinically, and ensure smooth operations across one or both locations. The ideal candidate is confident, organized, and capable of running a clinic day-to-day. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Patient Care * Perform comprehensive pre-testing and preliminary eye exams * Accurately document patient histories and exam data * Assist the optometrist during exams and procedures * Perform diagnostic testing and eyewear fittings * Educate patients on lenses, frames, and optical products Office Management & Operations * Oversee daily clinic operations and patient flow * Support and guide technicians and front-desk staff * Ensure accurate medical records and HIPAA compliance * Assist with scheduling, billing, insurance verification, and claims * Handle patient concerns professionally and efficiently * Maintain organization, cleanliness, and readiness of exam rooms Leadership & Team Support * Act as a go-to resource for staff questions and workflow issues * Help train and onboard new team members * Communicate effectively with doctors and management * Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and patient experience Qualifications & Experience * Strong prior experience in optometry required (tech, lead tech, or office manager level) * Comfortable with both clinical and administrative duties * Familiarity with EHR systems, insurance billing, and optical sales * Excellent communication and leadership skills * Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to multitask in a busy clinic * Commitment to patient care, professionalism, and confidentiality Benefits * Paid time off * Uniform allowance * Stable, full-time schedule * Opportunity for growth within a multi-location practice Work Location & Requirements * Must be able to commute to Irving, TX 75060 * Must be willing to relocate before starting if not local * In-person role Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: * Paid time off * Uniform allowance Work Location: In person
