Lexington Tax Group is expanding and seeking an experienced, detail- oriented Tax Preparer to join our team year-round. This role is ideal for professionals who prefer focused preparation work over client-facing sales or consultations. The majority of returns are fully documented and do not require direct client contact. You'll receive organized files with the necessary information already gathered, allowing you to concentrate on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. What You'll Do * Prepare and review individual and small-business tax returns with precision * Work from pre-collected, organized documentation in most cases * Identify deductions, credits, and tax-saving opportunities * Ensure full compliance with current IRS and state tax laws * Maintain clear, audit-ready records and workpapers * Collaborate internally with case managers and support staff as needed Ideal Candidate * Proven experience preparing both personal and business tax returns * Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations * High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple files efficiently * Comfortable working independently with minimal client interaction * Professional, reliable, and deadline-driven Requirements * IRS tax preparer certification required * Valid PTIN (or ability to obtain immediately) * Prior professional tax preparation experience * Experience with accounting or tax software preferred Compensation & Perks * Competitive pay (hourly or per-return options available) * All tools provided to you * Easy Schedule * Year-round stability -- not seasonal churn * Opportunities for growth and advancement * Supportive team with established systems and processes Position Details * In-office position * Full-time and part-time opportunities available Pay: $20.00 - $26.96 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Benefits: * Paid time off Work Location: In person
