Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and retail sales, with the ability to engage customers and drive sales through effective communication and upselling techniques. This role involves working in a grocery store environment, where you will assist customers with their shopping needs, manage transactions, and maintain an organized store layout.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and assisting with product selection.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for processing transactions, including cash handling and basic math calculations.
• Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and enhance the customer shopping experience.
• Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits.
• Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays, stocking shelves, and ensuring products are well-presented.
• Supervise junior staff members as needed, providing guidance on best practices in customer service and sales techniques.
• Utilize effective phone etiquette when responding to customer calls or inquiries.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
• Bilingual candidates are required to assist a diverse customer base.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts for accurate transaction processing and inventory management.
• Basic knowledge of merchandising principles and stocking procedures.
• Experience with cashiering duties and cash handling protocols.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
