Carrier Sales Representative Location: Oakbrook Terrace, IL Department: Carrier Sales Company: Grane Logistics Express (GLX) Grane Logistics Express (GLX) is seeking an experienced, high-performing Carrier Sales Representative to join our growing organization. This role is designed for professionals who have a proven track record in carrier sales, negotiation, and execution and are looking to operate with greater ownership, autonomy, and impact. In this position, you will play a critical role in driving margin, securing reliable capacity, and strengthening carrier partnerships in a dynamic market. You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to execute strategy, solve complex problems, and push profitability while maintaining best-in-class service. What You 'll Do Own Carrier Relationships * Build, manage, and deepen long-term carrier partnerships with a focus on repeat utilization and performance. * Act as a trusted point of contact for core carriers, driving consistency and reliability. Drive Margin & Capacity Strategy * Negotiate rates strategically to maximize gross margin while securing dependable capacity. * Proactively align carrier portfolios with customer freight needs and market conditions. Execute at a High Level * Manage loads end-to-end, ensuring clear communication, accurate execution, and accountability. * Anticipate and resolve service disruptions before they impact customers. Market & Performance Management * Leverage market knowledge and data to make informed pricing and capacity decisions. * Consistently perform in a metrics-driven environment with a strong focus on results. Cross-Functional Leadership * Partner closely with customer sales, operations, and leadership to drive execution and profitability. * Contribute to process improvements, best practices, and team development. Mentorship & Growth * Serve as a resource and mentor to junior team members as the organization scales. * Take on advanced responsibilities and strategic initiatives as opportunities arise. What You Bring to the Table Experience * 2-5+ years of carrier sales or brokerage experience preferred. * Proven success negotiating rates, managing carrier portfolios, and executing freight at scale. Sales & Negotiation Strength * Strong negotiation skills with a disciplined, margin-focused mindset. * Comfortable operating in volatile markets and adapting quickly.
