Full description of the position
We are a small family owned private optometric practice in downtown Miami seeking an Optical Sales Associate / Optician (licensed or unlicensed) with experience selling glasses. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the latest in eyewear and technology, as well as Vision Plans such as VSP and Eyemed. 1 year of optical experience is required. Licensed or unlicensed opticians encouraged to apply. * Recommend, adjust, and fit frames based on patient prescription, specifications, and face shape * Knowledge of different types of corrective lens options in order to help patients make informed decisions of lenses that best meet their optical and lifestyle needs * Know how to operate a lensometer, pupilometer, and other tools to achieve proper fittings for patients * Know how to repair frames * Administrative duties: answer phones, schedule appointments, pretesting patients, dispense glasses and contact lenses, contact lens training * Vision insurance plans: pulling authorizations, explaining benefits, billing Hours: Monday 9-6pm , Tues-Friday 9-5pm.
