Full description of the position

Job Overview We are seeking a Board-Certified Nephrologist to provide on-site care for Veterans at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center. This role includes a scheduled outpatient clinic session weekly and additional on-call coverage as required by the facility. Key Responsibilities * Provide comprehensive nephrology consultative care in inpatient and outpatient settings, including evaluation and management of: * Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), CKD, ESKD * Fluid/electrolyte disorders and hypertension * Nephrolithiasis management * Kidney transplant patient medical management * Extracorporeal treatment evaluation for poisonings/intoxications * Prescribe and medically oversee kidney replacement therapy (e.g., hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, prolonged intermittent and/or continuous therapies) * Provide timely bedside consults when patients are non-ambulatory; see patients in clinic when appropriate * Document all care in the VA electronic health record per facility policy * Participate in quality/performance processes (OPPE/FPPE), patient safety reporting, and follow VA standards of care On-Call Expectations * Must be available by phone within 15 minutes * Must be able to arrive onsite within 60 minutes when required * Call schedule is created monthly by the facility; coverage may include evenings, weekends, and federal holidays Required Qualifications * MD/DO with completion of accredited training * Board Certified/Board Eligible in Nephrology (ABIM or AOBIM); BE accepted for recent graduates (up to ~4 years) * Active, full and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state/territory/DC * Current BLS or ACLS certification * Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently * Eligible for and willing to complete VA credentialing and privileging prior to starting Why Join Us * Serve Veterans in a mission-driven setting * Predictable weekly clinic block + structured call schedule * Fully supported VA credentialing process through our team Benefits * Malpractice insurance, travel and lodging are paid for by Si2 Healthcare. * Opportunity to serve and impact the Veteran community.
