Overview We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Counter Staff Servers to join our team in a dynamic cafe environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for customer service and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food handling, preparation and sanitation. As a key member of our team, you will play an essential role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while ensuring efficient service. Shifts begin at 7:30 am and are staggered throughout the day until 4:30 pm on Monday through Friday. - PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT - Duties - Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers with their coffee drinks and food orders. - Operate the cash register accurately, processing transactions and handling cash responsibly. - Upsell menu items and specials to enhance the customer experience and increase sales. - Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards behind the counter and at dining areas, ensuring compliance with health regulations. - Assist in food preparation as needed, demonstrating culinary skills while adhering to safety guidelines. - Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service delivery. - Maintain an organized workspace and support overall cafe operations. Qualifications - Previous experience in a grocery store, cafe, or similar food service environment is preferred but not required. - Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers positively. - Basic knowledge of food handling practices and sanitation standards is essential. - Familiarity with cash register operations and basic sales techniques is advantageous. - Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours. - A team-oriented attitude with a willingness to help colleagues when needed.
