Farmers Market & Event Sales Manager (1099, Seasonal) Green Belly Foods | Boulder, Denver Overview This role is the day-to-day operator of Green Belly Foods ' farmers market and event program. You manage people, inventory, logistics, cash, and sales across multiple markets and storage locations. You are responsible for making sure markets run smoothly, vendors are trained and supported, inventory is stocked, money is handled correctly, and sales are reported accurately. Most compensation comes from commission on sales, not hourly pay. This is a proven role with clear systems and attainable targets, but it requires consistent weekly effort, strong organization, and comfort managing people and physical inventory. This is not a marketing role and not a desk job. It is hands-on operations plus sales leadership. Time Commitment (Realistic Expectations) * March & December: Prep and close-out work (lighter markets, more planning) * April -November: * Typically 2 markets per weekend (morning -afternoon) * ~10 hours per week of management work outside of markets * Some weeks (peak season, holidays, staffing gaps) will require more time * Other weeks will be lighter * Weekend attendance is required during the season markets run 8am-2pm Sat & 9am-1pm Sun Core ResponsibilitiesMarket & Event Operations * Plan, coordinate, and execute weekly farmers markets and special events * Communicate with market organizers (email, text, phone) * Ensure proper setup, breakdown, booth organization, and compliance * Maintain tents, tables, weights, coolers, and display materials in good condition People Management & Training * Schedule vendors one month at a time (finalize weekly) * Find and coordinate replacement vendors when coverage gaps arise * Train new vendors on: * How to sell Green Belly products * Market expectations and procedures * Support vendor performance improvement * Run bi-weekly sales check-ins or calls Inventory Management (Multiple Locations) * Ensure vendors are stocked weekly with: * Manage market inventory: * Organize storage areas: * Track equipment and report losses annually Cash, Payments & Admin * Manage cash boxes (bank deposits, making change) * Calculate vendor commissions * Send weekly market payment reports to Accounts Payable * Ensure licenses are current * Register for markets annually Sales Reporting * Enter sales data from Square into tracking spreadsheets * Maintain weekly sales tracking * Send weekly sales and scheduling reports Compensation Structure (Read Carefully) This is a 1099 contractor role. * Commission on net event sales * Weekly Retainer * Gas Stipend * End-of-season bonus: * Optional: * One demo per week at $60, if desired Target total seasonal earnings: ~$20,000, based on historical performance and attainable sales levels.
