Elliott Electric Supply in Lenexa, KS is hiring for a new Counter Sales Person. Elliott Electric Supply is the 8th largest wholesale distributor of electrical goods in the nation with over 200+ stores, debt free company, and over $2 billion in sales annually. This is an hourly based position along with sales commission. We offer a great benefit package as well. Electrical Contractors are our main customer base. Job Description: The Counter Sales Person is responsible for providing assistance to customers during the sales/purchase process and for responding to customer inquiries in a professional manner. Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information (including product catalogs, price sheets, etc.), product promotions and advertisements. Markets all products sold and suggests replacement/alternative products when appropriate. This is a safety-sensitive position, the ability to work in a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner is imperative. Candidates offered employment must undergo a pre-employment drug test. The test screens for drugs including amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates, oxycodone, and phencyclidines, following the cutoff levels set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). This position is subject to a background check for any convictions directly related to its duties and responsibilities. Only job-related convictions will be considered and will not automatically disqualify the candidate. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Experienced in Microsoft Word and Excel. A minimum of one year experience in the electrical industry and/or knowledge of electrical products required. Strong mathematical ability. Basic familiarity with the use of a personal computer. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats. Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, including an ability to plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Ability to work well in a team environment. Strong customer service orientation. Physical Requirements: This is a safety sensitive position therefore the ability to work in a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner is imperative. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone. Ability to bend, climb, push, and pull, including the ability to maneuver at heights and in tight or small places. Ability to routinely lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 70 lbs. and that may occasionally weigh in excess of 70 lbs.
