Overview The Cobb Convention Center - Atlanta is seeking a dynamic Sales Representative to manage one of our most established account bases. This isn't just a vacancy; it's a hand-off of a prestigious legacy. We are looking for a professional who balances the "art of the relationship" with modern, data- driven sales tactics to lead our center into its next chapter. Duties 1. Relationship Stewardship: Inherit and nurture a rich base of existing accounts, ensuring a seamless transition for long-term clients who have called our center home for years. 2. Business Development: Proactively identify and pitch new market segments (e.g., pharma and tech summits, hybrid corporate events, or regional, national, and international associations) to diversify our event calendar. 3. Consultative Selling: Work closely with event planners to understand their vision, providing creative solutions that maximize our spectacular renovated and expanding venue's 377,000+ sq. ft. of versatile space. 4. Contract Negotiation: Manage the full sales cycle from initial inquiry and site tours to contract execution and post-event debriefs. 5. Collaborative Strategy: Partner with our Marketing and Operations teams to ensure "The Cobb Convention Center Experience" is consistent from the first phone call to the final move-out. * The Bridge-Builder: You have a "people-first" mentality. You understand that in the events industry, trust is the primary currency. * The Modern Prospector: You are proficient in CRM software (like Salesforce or Ungerboeck) and know how to use LinkedIn and digital tools to find the next big booking. * The Adaptable Pro: You can pivot easily between a formal board-room presentation and a casual walk-thorough site inspection with a local client. * Experience: 10+ years of hospitality or venue sales experience is preferred. A proven track record of hitting quotas while maintaining high client retention is a must. * A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related field is often expected. * Prior experience in sales, typically 5 to 10 years in a leadership role, is crucial. * Strong negotiation, customer relationship management, and data analysis skills are essential. * Certifications in sales management or strategic selling can enhance qualifications.
