The type of catered events varies from small intimate ceremonies to up 900 buffet style picnics or plated dinners. The ideal candidate will manage the catering sales teams while also being responsible for servicing clients/groups and maintaining the contracted food and beverage minimum. A few important responsibilities will include: * Responsible for the Facility's Booking Goals. * Develop and maintain a positive working relationships with our client and build staff * Has a thorough understanding of the property's P&L and manages within an approved booking goal. * Produce monthly forecast of performance to budget and plan. * Develops and administers Catering Revenue Budget. * Consolidates and submits monthly Catering Booking / Pace Report * Understands how to solicit new inquiries to close a sale. * Ensure and maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction. What we're looking for: * Three years prior experience as Director of Catering Sales experience with a proven record of accomplishment in a similar facility * Willing to work flexible hours (i.e. weekends, evenings) * Must be extremely organized * Possess excellent supervisory skills * Computer proficient Essential Job Functions * Supervision and overall responsibility for the Catering function including maintaining and monitoring the accuracy and effectiveness of all written communication. These procedures include but are not limited to Menus and Event Proposals, Contracts, Banquet Event Orders, and Daily/Weekly Reports. * Actively prospect and solicit, develop, and maintain local corporate catering accounts through telephone, personal sales calls, trade shows, and on-site entertainment. * Finalize the requirements of personally booked catering events while maximizing revenue potential through upselling and ensuring effective communication both written (Resumes, BEO, Daily Reports) and personal contact with all departments for the success of the event. Ensure accuracy of Banquet Checks and provide bill review on completion of program or event. * Maintain knowledge of facilities, capacities, and dimensions of meeting space and basic operational needs of all operating departments. * Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with staff and clients, including but not exclusive to: Banquet Event Order Meetings, Sales Meetings, Menu Tastings, and Planning Site Visits. * Act as the liaison for all vendor/supplier-related client's needs, (i.e. Audio Visual, Florists, Entertainment, Transportation, etc.) * Contribute to the preparation and month-end financial summaries, and contribute to the annual Marketing Plan and Budget.
