Full description of the position

As a Sales Manager at M2, you will focus on expanding M2's customer base. This position requires cultivating new business opportunities through developing & managing a pipeline of prospects and opportunities, as well as converting them into clients. This position requires a team player who is highly energetic and motivated, has strong communication skills, is adaptable and organized with problem solving skills, and has a desire for continuous improvement and leading change throughout the organization. The successful Sales Manager will proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities while crafting solutions that exceed both internal growth objectives and external expectations for service, value, and client satisfaction. This role is key to expanding M2's customer base year over year and achieving our revenue goals. As a result, this position will develop and implement comprehensive sales plans to include existing and new sales strategies. Who is M2? The Position: * Cultivate new business opportunities through prospecting and cold calling activities towards companies that are not yet customers of M2 Logistics * Proactively engage with qualified leads to identify growth opportunities and at-risk situations for potential fit * Schedule face-to-face meetings with potential clients when appropriate * Design solutions and help our customers solve their supply chain challenges * Collaborate with the Strategic Sourcing team to understand available capacity to present to clients allowing us to lead with asset-lite solutions * Collaborate with Account Management team to communicate customer requirements & expectations are being supported * Champion the customer's supply chain internally & externally, consistently refining M2's value proposition to the client and within the marketplace (including improving processes) * Measure both the Company's and individual progress toward sales and margin goals * Accurately complete demand forecasts in a timely manner as part of M2 budgeting & forecasting process * Establish and nurture strong professional relationships with prospective clients using various prospecting techniques * Demonstrate a competency and comfort in selling all modes of Truckload (Van, Reefer, Intermodal, Flat Bed, HHOD, et al) and LTL transportation services * Comfortable engaging prospect in initial conversations regarding TMS systems, platforms and Long-Term Supply Chain Strategy with the intent to sell deeper into the potential customer relationship * Measure and review analytics through gathering POS data, market data, and available financial, brand, and shipper metrics and trends to maximize sales, market share, and profits while working closely with capacity planning to develop specific and accurate carrier procurement strategies * Promote and maintain brand awareness by being active in the geographic markets in which you operate (Networking, community Activism, sponsorships, charity, et al) and participate in local industry-related events, coordinate and attend regional and national trade shows as applicable Why Should You Apply? * Fun and energetic work environment * Work/Life balance is a core value of the M2 Logistics organization * Lack of bureaucracy - more empowerment * Pride in ownership * Servant leadership - no barriers * Caring/compassionate owner - trickle down effect * A really cool HR team that you get to work with * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required * Prior Sales experience in transportation, shipping, supply chain or procurement is preferred * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal * Proven success in managing time and accomplishing tasks * Ability to travel as business needs arise
