Commercial Insurance Producer Job Summary: The Commercial Insurance Producer is responsible for growing the agency's commercial book of business through proactive prospecting, value-based selling, and relationship building. This role serves as the face of the agency in the community, actively pursuing new business, nurturing client relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to meet sales and retention goals. Success in this role requires consistent follow-through, use of the agency's sales process, and engagement in networking and referral development activities. Key Responsibilities: Sales & New Business Growth * Meet or exceed monthly new business policy goals. * Contact: Lost business monthly; Unsold quotes up for renewal weekly; Monoline accounts weekly for account rounding * Market accounts and present proposals. * Sell coverage based on client needs and agency goals. Sales Process & Follow-Up * Maintain a closing ratio of 20% or higher. * Respond to inbound leads within 15 minutes. * Make 5-6 follow-up calls on new web leads. * Complete weekly outbound calls to lost, monoline, and unsold accounts. * Provide new business contact info to the marketing team. * Follow up 2-3 times after presenting pricing. * Ask for referrals regularly. * Prequalify risks, bind coverage, collect payments, and finalize underwriting. * Update carrier sites and the agency management system daily. Retention & Account Rounding * Support agency retention goals of 87%. * Round accounts on all new business. * Follow up 30 days after sale and again at renewal when appropriate. * Ask for referrals consistently. Networking & Community Presence * Attend at least one networking or community event monthly. * Represent the agency professionally and as an owner-minded ambassador. Centers of Influence (COIs) * Develop and maintain relationships with referral partners. * Meet with COIs regularly to generate leads. * Promote the agency's partner programs and platforms. Marketing Collaboration * Provide business cards and leads to the marketing team. * Offer blog, email, and social media content suggestions. * Share agency social media posts when appropriate. * Participate in branding and photo initiatives as requested. Client Accessibility * Respond to web forms and inquiries the following business day or sooner when necessary. Management System Usage * Enter all prospects into the system and update notes immediately. * Document all phone and email interactions. * Respond to account manager emails/questions within 8 business hours. * Follow agency procedures consistently. Professionalism & Efficiency * Improve daily workflows and leverage technology for efficiency. * Maintain a positive attitude and collaborative relationships with team members and clients. Qualifications: * Proven insurance sales experience highly desired * Active Property & Casualty License, or the ability to obtain the license upon being hired * Understanding of personal and commercial insurance products * Proficiency with an agency management system (Applied Epic), Microsoft Office Suite, and carrier portals * Strong verbal and written communication with clear, concise, and professional correspondence * Ability to persuade, influence decision makers, and build relationships * Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging prospects * High productivity, proactive work ethic, and minimal wasted effort * Strong organizational, follow-up, and time management skills * Positive attitude, enthusiasm for sales, and tenacity to go the distance * Integrity, accountability, and ethical decision-making * Strong work ethic with willingness to work extended hours when needed * Coachable, receptive to feedback, and team-oriented * Local travel will be required * Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, as permitted by law.
