Location: Flexible / Remote (with regional travel as needed) Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Director of Sales / VP of Growth About the Role We are seeking a driven, technically curious Account Executive / Business Development professional to grow our presence in the building automation and smart building market. This role focuses on developing new business and expanding existing accounts across commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities by selling integrated solutions such as BAS, HVAC controls, energy management, and building analytics. You will act as a trusted advisor to owners, facility managers, engineers, contractors, and integrators--connecting operational challenges to scalable automation solutions that improve comfort, efficiency, and sustainability. What You'll Do * Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to close, including discovery, solution design coordination, proposals, and contract negotiations * Identify and develop new business opportunities with building owners, facility managers, mechanical contractors, system integrators, and consulting engineers * Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and government facilities * Collaborate with engineering and project teams to scope solutions involving BAS, HVAC controls, lighting controls, energy management, and analytics * Develop account strategies to expand footprint within existing customers and multi-site portfolios * Track pipeline activity, forecasting, and customer interactions in the CRM * Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets * Stay current on building automation technologies, codes, energy standards, and market trends What You'll Bring * 3-7+ years of experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development--preferably within building automation, HVAC, controls, or related industries * Proven ability to sell complex, consultative, and technical solutions * Strong understanding of the construction and retrofit sales cycle * Excellent communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences * Ability to manage multiple opportunities across long sales cycles * Experience using CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) * Self-starter with strong organizational and follow-through skills Nice to Have * Experience with BAS platforms (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Distech) * Familiarity with HVAC systems, controls networks (BACnet, Modbus), and energy efficiency programs * Experience selling to mechanical contractors, ESCOs, or consulting engineers * Knowledge of LEED, ENERGY STAR, or sustainability initiatives What We Offer * Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission or OTE * Health, dental, and vision benefits * Paid time off and company holidays * Mileage or travel reimbursement * Ongoing technical and sales training * Career growth opportunities within a growing building automation organization Pay: From $75,000.00 per year Benefits: * Flexible schedule * Health insurance * Paid time off Work Location: On the road
