Compensation: Base salary and uncapped commissions that have escalating clauses, no ceiling on commissions. This job will be what you make it. What we are looking for: We are specifically looking for those with experience selling into the Polypropylene and Polyethylene plastic product market. We have varied, strong supply sources for these materials and just need you to come help us move it. You are located in the greater Illinois or Wisconsin region. Job Summary: Account managers are responsible for providing customer service excellence, obtaining and retaining new customers, and serving as a primary advisor to customers in the marketplaces they serve. Job Responsibilities: A. Account Management: a. Existing customer relationships: i. Services customers in an ongoing and constructive manner allowing for timely feedback, ability to adapt, and retain customers. ii. Identifies ways to further add value to the customer through offerings, consultation, or connection. iii. Seeks to further connect the customer with logistics coordinator and executives of the business based on approved plan/strategy for customer stickiness. iv. Periodically provides industry specific material, company sponsored materials or giveaways, and engages with the customer on an ongoing, appropriate, and professional manner. v. Studies and understands customer needs so that can continue to stay ahead of what the customer may need and be ready to provide it or connect them to someone who might. b. New customer relationships: i. Understands the target market, target product, and Lone Star Chemical competitive advantages and uses those to benefit the marketplace. ii. Stays focused and consistent in developing relationships and connections with new potential business on a recurring basis. iii. Able to bounce back from rejection and identify ways to continue to seek new customers knowing rejection will happen again. iv. Understands market focus area and who the players are. Can set a micro- strategy that is harmonious with Lone Star's macro-strategy and work to identify what will lead to success. v. Understands how to identify leads and rates them according to potential, allowing time to be spent in the right places and at the right time. vi. Able to identify trade-off decisions and cost-benefit in pursuit of relationships, knowing when to persist and when to move on. vii. Willing to focus efforts in product market and geographic market as part of corporate strategy. B. Development Focused: a. Others focused: i. Connects well with COO to understand purchasing and pricing criteria. Communicates with COO in ways that help aid mutual success and welcomes accountability and coaching. ii. Connects well with Logistics Coordinator to ensure customer serviced in most beneficial way: 1. Weekly meetings are conducted with Logistics Coordinator for calibration on orders and process/progress. iii. Is collegial and collaborative with other sales team members and looks for ways to improve one another and help. Engages in learning community opportunities for colleagues. iv. Understands other roles in the business and why they are critical to company success. Makes self available to learn, provide feedback, and seeks to understand the business at a higher level. Is proactive in seeking out others for development activities both for self and others. v. Is eager to see others succeed and looks for ways to be encouraging and reinforcing to others on the team. b. Development: i. Conducts ongoing self-awareness study and identifies how to stay motivated, challenged, and persistent throughout rejection, success, and monotony. ii. Is faithful (does the things asked or committed to), available (makes self available to learn from others in sales, COO, CFO, customers, suppliers and asks good questions), and teachable (willing to learn and admits does not know everything as seeks to reach potential). iii. Attends or creates learning opportunities to further self for the betterment of customers and the business. iv. Maintains an ecosystem of adjacent connections in the industry such as mold makers, machine distributors, and color/enhancers to keep abreast of industry news and identify creative ways to connect customer and show added value of working with Lone Star Chemical. v. Seeks to inform the direction of the sales efforts of the business by taking an active and vocal role in the business for the benefit of others. vi. Works to identify gaps in own abilities and complement those gaps with internal and external resources to ensure long-term success in the marketplace. vii. Maintains an open mind and adaptable approach to markets, products, and people. viii. Takes time to train and equip others to add to the success of others and self. C. Other: a. Takes ownership of outcomes, good and bad and looks for ways to improve. b. Uses all forms of communication with professionalism and tact in efforts to honor customers, vendors, colleagues, and company. Including not engaging in divisive behavior but bringing concerns to management. c. Embodies the firm mission, vision, and core values in work on a continual basis. d. Other duties as assigned. e. Must be fluent in English, able to read, write, and communicate clearly and with proficiency.
