Full description of the position
Continental Disc Corporation designs and manufactures safety-critical products that protect pressure-containing vessels from catastrophic failure. CDC is headquartered in Liberty, Missouri and has manufacturing operations in Houston, Texas, and Ahmedabad, India with additional sales offices in India, the Netherlands and China. CDC's customers include blue-chip companies in the chemicals, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, general industrial, aerospace, defense, food and beverage, municipal, and other markets globally. The Inside Sales Representative performs a variety of duties to support the Regional Sales Manager in a designated region and helps meet and exceed overall company sales goals. The Inside Sales Rep also provides customer service to customers and manufacturer representatives within a designated region, as well as other regions as needed. What You'll Be Doing: * Act as a resource for customers and manufacturer's reps in a designated territory, providing essential customer service, product selection and technical support in an effective, timely, and pleasant manner * Receive customer inquiries and review and interpret specifications and requirements to prepare quotations * Follow up on open quotes in a timely manner * Provide contract review; including knowledge of terms and conditions, technical review, discounts, commissions, etc. * Enter credit and returned material authorization (RMA) * Prepare quotations, i.e., sizing, competitive pricing, etc. * Work with Regional Sales Manager for designated region to maintain up-to-date information regarding status of customer activities in order to effectively serve customers when RSM is not available * Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business needs Requirements What You Bring to the Table: * Associate's degree in Business, Science or related field preferred * Minimum 2 years of sales experience in mechanical applications with a company or industry selling through manufacturers' representatives * Sales experience with knowledge of pressure relief products, process equipment, compressors, pumps, or petrochemical controls maintenance or services is preferred TECHNICAL / FUNCTION SPECIFIC: * Working knowledge of computers sufficient to successfully use company ERP system, Microsoft Windows and Office * Intermediate math and reading skills * Knowledge of units of measure * Problem solving skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to read basic submittal drawings * Working knowledge of mechanical equipment and processes * Attention to detail BEHAVORIAL: * Sincere dedication to the best interests of the company, its customers and employees * Ability to provide consistent results under time constraints * Quality, accuracy and safety oriented * Ability to stay on task and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines * Ability to function within a team environment * Attention to detail * Positive attitude and ability to work well with others, including peers, members of management and outside vendors, representatives, customers, and visitors * Professional and thorough verbal and written communication PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Sufficient manual dexterity to successfully use a computer and telephone * Ability to sit for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day, though possibly more * Sometimes required to stand and/or walk, up to 1 hour per day, and make occasional trips from the office area to the manufacturing area * Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment when in the manufacturing area, including, but not limited to, safety glasses and safety shoes Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA and 401K with Match eligible day one.
