Furry Friends Humane is seeking experienced part-time retail associates for our thriving, newly reimagined thrift store. The Furry Friends thrift store plays a vital role in helping us save the lives of homeless dogs and cats in our community and beyond. This position serves as the welcoming face of Furry Friends and is the main point of contact for our patrons. Responsibilities: Perform retail clerking duties on all scheduled workdays Operate and manage the cash register, including detailed and accurate transactions Customer Service to all customers, vendors, sister charities, and donors Assist donors with drop-offs, including accepting donations from vehicles Merchandise products for sale on the showroom floor after management processing Maintain cleanliness and organization of all showroom and work areas Complete opening and closing duties, including cleaning and stocking Recovery of sales floor throughout day and at closing Rotate duties throughout the store as assigned Other duties as assigned Requirements: Outgoing, positive attitude with a customer-focused mindset Prior customer service experience required Retail experience, including clothing or thrift sales, preferred Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment Ability to work effectively as part of a team Excellent attention to detail Helpful, courteous, and professional approach when interacting with customers and donors Work hours are scheduled within the store's operating hours, currently 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., including weekdays and weekends. Schedules may vary based on business needs and may include weekends, evenings, or adjusted hours as needed. Working Conditions: Work performed primarily on indoor retail sales floors and in back-of-house receiving areas; some outdoor work retrieving donations is required. Ability to operate a cash register and point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently, including handling cash and electronic transactions Must work well in a rapidly-paced environment Ability to stand for hours while performing job Reaching (below, at, and above the shoulder level), kneeling, bending at the waist, pushing, pulling, twisting, and rotating required Lifting and/or carrying up to 50 pounds Ability to work around cats and dogs of varying sizes, temperaments, and medical conditions Job Type: Part-time Pay: $16.00 per hour Application Question(s): * This role requires availability for scheduled shifts during the store's operating hours, currently 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m including weekdays and weekends.
