Sales Assistant / Dispatcher Location: 4200 Masonic Lane, Richmond, VA 23223 Company: The Mulch Supply Company About Us We are a mulch manufacturing company dedicated to producing and delivering high-quality landscaping products to contractors, businesses, and homeowners. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a reliable Sales Assistant/Dispatcher to join our team and help us provide excellent customer service while ensuring smooth and efficient deliveries. Position Summary The Sales Assistant/Dispatcher will play a dual role: supporting sales by handling customer inquiries and order processing and managing logistics by dispatching deliveries and coordinating drivers. This position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast- paced environment. Key Responsibilities Sales & Customer Support * Answer customer calls, emails, and inquiries regarding mulch products, pricing, and availability. * Prepare quotes, enter sales orders, and process invoices accurately. * Provide product knowledge and upsell/cross-sell where appropriate. * Maintain strong customer relationships and resolve issues promptly. Dispatch & Logistics * Schedule and dispatch mulch deliveries to meet customer deadlines. * Communicate with drivers to assign loads, provide delivery instructions, and monitor delivery progress. * Troubleshoot delays, route changes, and other logistical challenges. * Coordinate with production teams to align inventory with sales orders. Administration & Operations * Keep accurate records of sales, dispatch schedules, and deliveries. * Assist with weekly/monthly sales and delivery reports. * Support management with other administrative tasks as needed. Qualifications * Experience in dispatching, logistics, customer service, or sales support (manufacturing/trucking/landscaping industry preferred). * Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. * Excellent communication skills (phone and email). * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); experience with dispatch or CRM software a plus. * Ability to solve problems under pressure and work in a team environment.
