Role Overview The Sales Manager will play a key role in expanding Synbio's presence across the Northeast region. This position focuses on identifying new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and driving revenue growth through consultative, science-driven sales. This role is ideal for someone who combines biotechnology expertise with strong commercial instincts and enjoys working cross-functionally to deliver customer success. Key Responsibilities * Identify and evaluate new markets, target customers, and business opportunities across biotech, pharma, academia, synthetic biology, IVD, and startup sectors * Generate and qualify leads through outreach, networking, partnerships, emails, and phone calls * Promote Synbio's DNA and synthetic biology services by clearly articulating technical value and competitive advantages * Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, deeply understanding their research goals and challenges * Collaborate closely with internal teams (marketing, technical, project management, and sales) to deliver tailored solutions * Lead proposal development, pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and deal closures * Identify and develop strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders, academic institutions, and research organizations * Track sales performance, pipeline activity, and KPIs; provide regular reports to senior management * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system (e.g., HubSpot) * Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities to maximize account value * Continuously learn and stay current on Synbio's service offerings and industry trends Qualifications * Master 's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Business, or a related field * 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within biotech or life sciences * Strong understanding of synthetic biology and biotechnology markets * Proven ability to build relationships and drive revenue growth * Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills * Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred: * Experience using CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot) * Established network within biotech and life sciences industries Why Join Synbio? * Join a fast-growing, innovative biotech company at the forefront of synthetic biology * Work alongside a collaborative team of scientists and industry professionals * Gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies and diverse customer applications * Clear opportunities for career growth and professional development * Competitive compensation and benefits package Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Work Location: Remote
