Full description of the position
The Direct Sales Representative, Indiana and Ohio has responsibility and accountability for developing strategic relationships and generating sales in their assigned territory. This position will collaborate with sales management to enable creation and tracking of opportunities through our dealer network, architecture and design firms and generating direct sales through personal efforts. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Grow commercial interiors end user relationships year over year by an agreed upon percentage increase. * Build and maintain business relationships with Facility Managers, Space Planners, C Level Executives, and related decision makers. * Build and maintain relationships with Architecture and Design Firms, Commercial Furniture Dealers and other strategic resellers. * Stay up to date with market trends. * Prepare strategic business plan to ensure growth. * Negotiate and implement purchasing agreements and standards with end user companies. * Self-generate new sales opportunities monthly and coordinate efforts with sales management. QUALIFICATIONS: * Minimum 3 years of experience in business development or sales related activities. * Experience calling on facilities, A+D, and dealers for premium product offerings. * Experience in the commercial furniture or similar industry strongly preferred. * Proven track record in business development with demonstrated ability to self-motivate and work autonomously, under management direction. * Provide regular sales reports to executive management. * Strong skills in MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint required, experience working with a CRM system preferred. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. WORKING CONDITIONS: This position works a combination of in office, at home, and at Client sites. Due to the nature of our business, exposure to manufacturing operations Is to be expected. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to travel and drive to and from client sites. Lifting of 25lbs may be required. DIRECT REPORTS: This position does not have direct reports.
