Full description of the position
Overview: The Senior Account Executive, Mass Transit Sales (SAE), is responsible for driving the growth of Safety Vision's Mass Transit vertical by nurturing and advancing assigned opportunities within the designated regions of the United States and Canada. This role primarily focuses on mass transit opportunities and customers with fleets of fewer than 250 vehicles. For fleets with more than 250 vehicles, the SAE will play a supporting role with the territory's Strategic Account Manager (SAM), with the SAM taking the lead role. Both the SAE and SAM report to Safety Vision's Vice President of Mass Transit Sales. They are responsible for maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities in the mass transit marketplace, positioning Safety Vision to successfully close business and expand the vertical. Additionally, this role will contribute to the development of new products and services by staying forward-thinking and attuned to customers, prospects, and emerging technologies impacting the mass transit industry. The primary focus of this position includes prospecting, advancing opportunities, maximizing existing customer relationships, fostering innovation, and supporting the region's SAM. Responsibilities: Active participant in achieving company and team goals. Generating sales via database marketing, online marketing, virtual and in- person sales presentations, conference attendance, and ongoing relationship building. Collaborating with fellow employees in a way that promotes a healthy and effective team. Consistently meeting SAE activity requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Traveling to client and prospect locations (overall travel expected: 25%-30%). Travel will mostly consist of prospecting and customer support for fleets under 250 vehicles. Occasional travel with SAM to fleet customers over 250 vehicles. Assisting Marketing in preparing for assigned trade shows and providing feedback through Salesforce after each trade show attended. Providing feedback to the Vice President and SAM to ensure customer-driven requests are implemented, particularly as they relate to the Video Management, and hardware portions of Safety Vision's product portfolio. Collaborating with the Proposal Team on Request for Proposals (RFP) and Invitation for Bids (IFB), pricing, quotes, bids, literature requests, and other tasks necessary to target new sales. Working closely with the RFP Team to drive and take ownership of assigned formal proposals. Assisting the region's SAM, as requested, with Bill of Materials (BOM), customer quotations, RFP/IFB responses, and Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA) for the shared region. Being a positive and innovative team player on the Mass Transit sales team. Maintaining some level of engagement beyond a traditional 8 AM-5 PM schedule via email and telephone. Maintaining and growing knowledge of both the onboard and stationary security markets to help bring new software and hardware innovations to the onboard market. Demonstrating a relentless commitment to Quality Management in all interactions, both internal and external. Always demonstrating professionalism while representing Safety Vision in a customer and prospect environment: 1) Attire 2) Verbal Communication 3) Overall Behavior & Decision Making Qualifications & Requirements: This position will be focused primarily on transit fleets under 250 vehicles. Experience in this market is preferred. The ideal candidate will have exposure to onboard Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), onboard video surveillance, or experience with a bus Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or Dealer. Strong competitive drive and work ethic. Ability to work well with co-workers ("team player") and with minimal supervision. Ability to make quick decisions in the best interests of both the customer and the company. Safety Vision provides resources such as a MiFi, laptop, Fortune 500 benefits, and company credit card. The position requires some after-hours work and maintaining some level of engagement beyond a traditional 8 AM-5 PM schedule. Ability to stay calm under pressure and navigate internal and external dynamics in a calculated and professional way in the best interest of the company. Professional personal presentation, along with written and verbal communication skills. Ability to quickly learn new technologies and be adaptive to changing dynamics. Computer savvy, proficiency operating in a PC environment a must. Minimum 2-5 years of competitive sales experience. Proven record of consultative selling and closing successes. Ability and willingness to travel on short notice. Experience with Salesforce is a plus. Education: 4-year college degree in a relevant field of study is preferred, or equivalent work-related experience.
