Overview The Yard Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing operations within the yard, ensuring that all activities are conducted efficiently and safely. This position involves managing a team, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that all yard operations meet company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical knowledge and service technician experience, along with excellent customer service skills. Duties * Supervise daily yard operations and manage staff to ensure productivity and safety. * Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools to ensure proper maintenance and functionality. * Oversee vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety standards. * Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments for various tasks including assembly, fabrication, and welding. * Interpret schematics and technical drawings to guide assembly and repair processes. * Implement effective rigging techniques for safe handling of heavy materials. * Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly. * Maintain accurate records of inventory, equipment usage, and maintenance schedules. * Collaborate with sales teams to support customer needs and promote yard services. Skills * Service technician experience with a strong mechanical background. * Familiarity with electrical systems and vehicle maintenance practices. * Experience in rigging techniques for heavy lifting operations. * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret schematics effectively. * Excellent customer service skills to foster positive client relationships. * Military experience is a plus but not required. * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
