Overview

The Yard Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing operations within the yard, ensuring that all activities are conducted efficiently and safely. This position involves managing a team, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that all yard operations meet company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical knowledge and service technician experience, along with excellent customer service skills.

Duties

• Supervise daily yard operations and manage staff to ensure productivity and safety.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools to ensure proper maintenance and functionality.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments for various tasks including assembly, fabrication, and welding.
• Interpret schematics and technical drawings to guide assembly and repair processes.
• Implement effective rigging techniques for safe handling of heavy materials.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, equipment usage, and maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with sales teams to support customer needs and promote yard services. Skills
• Service technician experience with a strong mechanical background.
• Familiarity with electrical systems and vehicle maintenance practices.
• Experience in rigging techniques for heavy lifting operations.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret schematics effectively.
• Excellent customer service skills to foster positive client relationships.
• Military experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
