We are seeking energetic and personable candidates to fill our energy auditor positions. About This Role Energy Management Solutions is hiring a technically driven Energy Auditor who can concentrate on what matters most: accurate diagnostics and building performance analysis. Job Description This position includes the following, but is not limited to: Diagnostic & Technical Assessment: * Perform comprehensive building diagnostics using specialized equipment, including blower doors, thermal imaging cameras, combustion analyzers, manometers, etc. * Conduct blower door tests and combustion safety testing to identify air leakage and building performance issues. * Inspect and evaluate building envelopes, mechanical systems, and process systems to determine each system's energy consumption. * Apply building science to diagnose building performance issues and safety concerns. * Perform thermal boundary analysis and detect air leakage. * Identify any health or safety issues related to planned weatherization projects. Analysis & Documentation: * Utilize energy modeling software for audit data entry and comprehensive analysis. * Analyze energy bills to gather historical energy usage data and establish baselines for energy consumption. * Quantify energy efficiency measures based on diagnostic findings and analysis. * Prepare detailed audit reports that include energy analysis results and recommended energy-efficiency improvements. * Prepare job specification workscopes for home energy improvements, including attic insulation, air sealing, and heating system upgrades. Program Compliance & Communication: * Ensure all audits meet energy program requirements and documentation standards. * Verify income eligibility of participants in publicly financed weatherization programs. * Provide clear, factual explanations of diagnostic findings to ensure homeowner understanding. * Coordinate with the sales team regarding recommended improvements and project specifications. Must Have: Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed) Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, and basements. Strong attention to detail and technical problem-solving skills. Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders. Computer proficiency and willingness to learn new software. Basic understanding of building framework (studs, joists, soffits, etc.) Proficient in math to calculate square footage and surface area. Big Plus (But We'll Train the Right Person): * BPI Certification Preferred.- Environmental Degree is a plus. * Proven experience as an Energy Auditor is a plus. * Knowledge of Air Source Heat Pumps is a plus. * Experience with energy audit software. * OSHA 10 certification. * Construction, HVAC, or building trades background. * Knowledge of building codes/ASHRAE standards. Work Environment * Office-based with daily field work at residential properties. * Work solo after the initial training period. * Typical schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional weekend availability for scheduled trade and home shows support. * Exposure to various weather conditions and building environments. * All diagnostic equipment and tools provided.
