Job Title: Parts Counter Specialist - Volkswagen Dealership (Full-Time) Job Summary: Douglas Volkswagen, a family owned business, we have been in business for over sixty years. We are busy and growing located in Summit, NJ. We are seeking an experienced Parts Counter Specialist with prior Volkswagen parts experience. The ideal candidate will accurately identify, source, and supply parts for internal service technicians, wholesale, and retail customers while delivering friendly, efficient service in a fast-paced environment. This is a full- time position requiring over 40 hours per week and two scheduled Saturday per month. The parts department supports a busy service department and a loyal retail and wholesale customer base, emphasizing OEM Volkswagen parts and accessories. Key responsibilities * Assist service technicians, wholesale accounts, and retail customers with accurate parts lookup, pricing, and ordering using Volkswagen catalogs and dealer systems. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Volkswagen parts, accessories, product changes, and campaigns to ensure proper parts recommendations. * Receive, verify, and stock incoming parts orders; organize and maintain inventory accuracy and bin locations. * Prepare, pull, and stage parts for repair orders; ensure timely delivery of parts to service technicians to minimize vehicle downtime. * Process parts invoices, returns, cores, and warranty parts according to dealership and manufacturer guidelines. * Monitor special orders and backorders; communicate status updates to service advisors and customers. * Support retail and wholesale sales at the parts counter and by phone, providing professional, courteous customer service at all times. * Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized parts department.. Qualifications and skills Required: * Previous parts department experience in a dealership setting. * Strong knowledge of Volkswagen OEM parts, catalogs, and part numbering. * Experience with dealership DMS/parts software (e.g., Reynolds & Reynolds,) and electronic parts catalogs. * Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy with numbers. * Strong communication and customer service skills, with a professional, team-oriented attitude. * Ability to stand, move, and lift parts (up to approximately 40-50 lbs) throughout the day. Preferred: * Prior Volkswagen experience in a busy, high-volume parts department. * Familiarity with warranty parts processes and wholesale parts sales. * Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Schedule, location, and compensation * Schedule: Full-time, over 40 hours per week, with two required Saturdays per month; additional hours may be required based on department volume. * Location: On-site at Douglas Volkswagen, Summit, New Jersey. * Compensation: $28.50 hourly rate, plus potential bonuses. * Benefits: Eligible for dealership benefits package, which includes health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, paid holidays, paid vacation time, personal days, 401K eligibility first day of employment.
