Drew Executive Search is excited to partner with a locally-owned Alabama based firm that has been in business for 20+ years and is looking to add an low voltage alarm technician to join their team to assist with increased work load in Dothan, AL and the surrounding area. My client is well established in the Southeast and has grown to become a single point of contact for physical security and financial equipment for banks and credit unions. From access control, CCTVs, and alarms, traditional locksmith services and financial equipment such as ATMs. The low voltage alarm technician is a professional position that installs, modifies, repairs, and maintains: access control systems, commercial CCTV systems, burglar alarms, ATMs, cash safes and vaults and other banking equipment. This position will cover a territory within about 1-2 hours of the Dothan area and the schedule is M-F 8am-5pm with very minimal on-call responsibilities Job duties for this low voltage alarm technician include but are not limited to:
- Install, configure, and test low voltage systems, including security cameras, access control systems, intercoms, and fire alarm systems.
- Work on a variety of financial equipment including some ATMs, vaults, safes and drive-up equipment.
- Mount and connect devices such as control panels, sensors, cameras, and speakers.
- Lay and terminate low voltage wiring, ensuring proper connections and adherence to safety codes and standards.
- Program and integrate systems to operate seamlessly
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential issues and ensure optimal system performance.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with low voltage systems, employing appropriate tools and techniques to identify and resolve faults.
- Replace or repair faulty components, wiring, or equipment to restore system functionality.
- Perform system upgrades, software updates, and firmware installations as required.
Education and Experience
required for this low voltage alarm technician role include:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or an associate degree in electrical technology or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience as a Low Voltage Technician or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of low voltage systems, including security, access control, IP based surveillance systems and telecommunications.
- Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools for installation, termination, and troubleshooting.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different work sites as needed. My client offers an hourly pay rate in the $25-$35/hr range plus a company vehicle, comprehensive benefits including health and dental insurance, 401(k) with match, PTO, paid holidays and paid training All prospective candidates will need to pass a criminal background, driving record check. This position is available to start immediately. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
