Full description of the position

Holiday Inn & Suites is looking for a uniquely qualified hospitality leader to be our Sales & Catering Coordinator for Bloomington, IL. This is a great opportunity for a sales leader with exceptional sales skills, but it is also the springboard to growth opportunities. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Understand Hotel operations including room types, meeting capacities, service and features * Create and execute annual marketing plan addressing sales strategy and budget goals. * Responsible for planning and implementing sales efforts for all short and long-range goals * Set sales strategies to achieve overall property goals for both rate and occupancy * Work closely with Hotel GM & Area DOS to assist in capturing group business in all segments including corporate, SMERF, and transient business * Proactive solicitation of new business to achieve revenue goals * Target accounts, markets, or segments with proactive solicitation and account saturation * Participate in local networking organizations, community, and industry events while representing the Hotel in a professional manner * Manage and maintain vendor relations * Meet monthly revenue goals for both room and catering sales * Strive for consistent improvement Guest Satisfaction scores to meet or exceed industry standards. * Lead by example and empowerment with coaching on regular basis. * Securing new accounts in the deployed market segment. * Maintaining existing accounts and developing future business. * Developing and maintaining good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups, companies, and trade organizations. * Ensure that contracts and proposals are sent and followed up on in a timely manner. * Solid written and verbal English communication skills to effectively negotiate, persuade, influence, and sell full service and focus service brands are required. Job Requirements * Must have 3 - 5 years of previous experience as a Hotel Sales at branded hotel with a solid performance track record. i,e Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton or IHG preferred. * IHG experience and knowledge of IHG operating systems are critical * Opera PMS knowledge * Well versed in Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook * Proven positive business development in previous hotels * Highly developed computer skills * Well organized and detail-oriented * Ability to work independently * Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills * Highly developed communication skills * Professional and ethical * Excellent customer service skills * Quick learner and hard worker * Team player and ability to get along with others * Solid written and verbal English communication skills to effectively negotiate, persuade, influence, and sell brands are required.
