Billing Coordinator Brookhaven at Lexington, a prestigious private retirement community located on the Lexington/Waltham line, is currently seeking a Billing Coordinator to be responsible for first- and third-party billing and accounts receivable, assisting in reconciliation of cash accounts, and maintains resident census in various systems. Provides support to the Director of Accounting/Controller as needed, and provides backup for cash receipt entries and bank deposits. This position is 40 hours per week and is fully in-person. Pay Range: $50,000 - $70,000 annually Responsibilities: * Maintain resident insurance database and update as needed. * Maintain resident census for each level of care, including ancillary vendor census updates. * Process and submit all third-party billing and enter all SNF ancillary charges. * Process and distribute monthly invoices and adjustments in a timely manner to Residents, including all ancillary charges. * Actively monitor and resolve accounts receivable balances. * Reconcile all associated billing accounts including accounts receivable, revenues, contractual allowances and expenses. * Prepare all month end reconciliation worksheets including Medicare A and B logs and Medicare ancillary logs. * Assist with reconciling all cash accounts. * Provide backup for cash receipts entries and bank deposits. * Complete assigned journal entries and reconciliations. * Assist Director of Accounting/Controller with Forecast Amortization. * Prepare Medicare cost report worksheets, as assigned. * Prepare applicable year end audit worksheets, as assigned. * Store accounting records per retention policy and procedure. * Maintain Fullcount (POS) entry and processing as it relates to billing. * Provide assistance to residents and departments regarding insurance queries and eligibility. * Provide customer service to residents for billing inquiries. * Assist in calculating and distributing annual resident medical tax deduction letters. * Submit Medicare A and B claims on a monthly ongoing basis and stay up to date on billing guidelines and regulations. * Submit Quarterly Bed Tax to DPH * Calculate Quarterly Sales and Meals Taxes * Attend weekly Medicare meetings. * Coordinate Internal Medicare Audits. * Attend accounting department meetings. * Assist Director of Accounting/Controller with other Accounting projects and reports as needed. * Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: * 3+ years of experience in healthcare billing, resident accounting, or accounting support; long-term care or CCRC experience preferred. * Working knowledge of SNF Medicare A and B billing, third-party insurance processes and maintaining facility census. * Experience with accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end activities. * Proficiency with accounting/billing systems and Excel, with strong attention to detail. * Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and work independently. * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
