General Sales Manager Lower Fairfield County A well-established automotive dealership in Lower Fairfield County is seeking an experienced and driven General Sales Manager to lead daily sales operations, support the sales team, and drive overall performance. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a hands-on approach to coaching, inventory management, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include: * Oversee day-to-day operations of the sales department * Lead, coach, and develop the sales management and sales teams * Set and monitor sales goals, performance metrics, and profitability targets * Manage new and pre-owned vehicle inventory, pricing strategies, and aging * Work closely with desk managers on deal structure, approvals, and compliance * Analyze sales reports and market trends to identify opportunities for growth * Ensure a consistent, professional customer experience throughout the sales process * Collaborate with finance, service, and inventory teams to support dealership goals * Maintain compliance with all manufacturer, state, and dealership policies * Assist with hiring, training, and performance management of sales staff Qualifications: * Proven experience in automotive sales management required * Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills * Ability to analyze data and make informed business decisions * Experience with dealership DMS and CRM systems * Solid understanding of inventory management and sales processes * Professional demeanor with a customer-focused mindset The employer is an equal opportunity workplace and values leadership, accountability, and operational excellence.
